Cold Case radiator is here!!!!

Does power steering or a/c as options change the inlet outlets?
My radiator is a driver lower passenger upper.

No, haha .. that would be funny though ....
Yeah, I am talkng big block too. Not sure what your application is... weren't most lowers on drivers side ?

Here's the 68 318. So yes that would explain the opp sides for a small block if that's the case on a 22" radiator. Not sure about the 26" radiator and that inlet/outlet.

Application is for a 71 charger with a 340. It’s 26” but they also have 22” available. Looks like they have 17 diff mopar options

26”. I haven’t gotten a tape measure out but it looks like an exact match for my 3574626 radiator. As far as price they have them listed on their website for $399.

Just happen to be looking for a radiator for my 66 shoebox . . . Was looking at Cold Case too

$399 on their website
$325 on Jegs

$475 iIRC . . With fan shroud and wire harness

Might want to double check the dimensions on the Cold Case, over on FCBO, a member got a 22", the tank was a couple inches shorter, and the tank to body bolt holes were wrong, also the trans cooler outlets were spaced wrong.
Looks good though!

. Maybe it’s just me but I had hoped the “cold case” logo was on the outside instead of inside, (or on both sides). Maybe I’m crazy but I like the look of branding on higher end parts. (Like willwood brakes) and the cap is strange to me. Maybe a style I’ve never seen befor? But it is completely smooth on the inside and doesn’t look like it screws on anything at all,What do all think?
Other than that it arrived in perfect shape. All ports covered with plastics to prevent foreign materials and the packing and warranty info was easy to find.
Tim, I'm glad you got everything ok. Let me answer a couple of your questions above.
1. we purposely do not paint the logo on the grill side as many customers specifically frown upon that. They don't want to see the logo on the outside. For those that are proud to display our logo, we felt doing it quietly with the small stamping in the tank as well as the painted logo on the engine side is enough. With a factory shroud, you'd still be able to see it if you look for it. If you don't want to see it, a light spray of black on the cover will hide it. And if you get our shroud kit, the logo gets completely covered.
2. The cap is just the cover. That cap should press fit onto the 16lb cap provided. However, you don't want to press it on until you know the position of the logo because once that thing is pressed on, it's really hard to remove. You'd probably ruin the 16lb cap removing it. It that happens, just let us know and we can send you another at no charge. You mentioned that it went on top of the 16lb cap loose? Please confirm because that is the first time I've heard of that happening.
3. As far as you inlet and outlet configuration, if it isn't correct for your car, then you and Brian miscommunicated! That's the main reason I wanted him to discuss this with you. However, don't feel bad. This is a common problem we have. Sometimes when you are not right there looking at the car and sometimes even if you are, LH and RH is all a matter of perspective of where you were standing at the time you were looking! ;)

Anyway, if there is a mismatch, we'll have to swap radiators. We have pretty much all the configurations available.

Good luck installing and more importantly, let us know what kind of temps you run at!

I jumped on the websites and it has it advertised as “*These are billet press fit caps that fit onto only our radiators*. I’m thinking maybe I got one for a different radiator they sell. It just seems to slide on and off
Well this will be a first. We don't make the 16lb cap. We just buy it in bulk. Either they changed their specs or someone goofed up the billet specs. We'll get you one or the other so you can press fit it on.

That is true but the owner has a C-body and knew he was getting a shorter unit. Those guys over on the C-body forum are helping us out so we can make all the correct C-body units. We finished the correct 26" one for 66-70 and now we're working on the 22" version for those guys. With the information he provided, we'll be making a specific C-body unit with the specs he provided.

Yes, to support our dealer network, we sell at full retail on our website. The exceptions are as follows;
1. Occasionally, we'll give a special price to a forum community member to help confirm fitment and function on certain models.
2. At select shows that Cold Case displays at. For a list of shows we attend, visit our website. We think it is a big plus for owners to be able to see our products and talk to us first hand. It's something we feel is really important and very few radiator companies do this anymore.

It all makes sense! Haha No miscommunication between us. The rad I received is perfect! My issues were merely cosmetic haha(I like showing off when I spring for quality) all inlets are spot on for my application. But I’m still a little confused on the press on cap. Should there be an additional cap ( traditional cap with the seal and the spring?) that came with? My first thought was that the billit cap I received would press on to a traditional cap. But the cap I have on the old rad is oval shaped and the new rad came without a traditional cap.

oh! good. I thought you had said the inlet outlet configuration might be wrong.

YOu should have received a full rad cap and it should have been on the radiator. The flat billet cap presses on the main cap assembly. I thought I saw the main cap installed on the rad in the pic? I don't have good eye sight! maybe not? :)

That would be why, looks like I’m missing the standard cap. That second pic was taken as I opened the box and no cap in sight. No worries, I can grab one on the way home.

No! :) let us send you one unless you just want to test the car. We'll get you a new one out next week.

So correct me if I'm wrong.
Arent 22" radiators the same for B body and C body?
The 22" I took out of my 63 B body is the exact same as in my 65 C body?

We know some fit identically but we're trying to confirm the year range and as that C-body tester found out, the trans lines were spaced differently and we'd like to confirm OEM fan shroud fitment as well.

Hey Cold case and others,
I just measured the mounting holes in my core support.
Perhaps this will help add some information
My car is a 65 C body, manual trans so no cooler lines.
The holes are 24 1/2" on center across
13 11/16" vertically
My total radiator height is 23 1/2" from the bottom of the core to the top of the tank.
Maybe someone with a B body 22" can compare?

Well she’s finally in and looking sharps. Over all it’s a good fit. But unfortunately is not perfect. The rad mounts to the core support just fine up top. But the bottom seems off by just a few mm. And the shroud was nowhere near close. I won’t say that’s the radiators fault since the 340 is not stock but for now it looks like I’m just gonna run without it until I can sit down and do a lil more customization(drill holes in the right spots) everything else seems to line up well. I did have to fab up some hard lines for the cooler sinc they pinched as soon as I tried to disassemble them. And of course I had to leave myself a lil note haha

I have been talking with Chris from Cold Case in regards to a 22" Direct fit radiator for my A body 68 Dart GTS. They had a couple that they thought would work so they brought them to the Syracuse Nationals last weekend where I met Chris and got a chance to look at their product first hand, unfortunately the two they sent would not work, they were close ( shroud issue ). I have to say I was very impressed with Chris and the quality of their radiators. After talking to Chris and giving him the figures that I took off of my radiator he said it's tough to build a exact fit radiator just off of the figures that I gave him. So I went home pulled the radiator out and took it to him to use as a templet to build a direct fit A body radiator. I knew my Rad. was bad so pulling it was no big deal to me as I didn't like the high temps it was running. Hopefully this fall Cold Case will have a direct fit 22" A Body radiator.
