Why Mopar ?

Seen how much work it took to make a Ford or Chevy reliable in a racing situation, compared to Mopars having the upgraded parts standard.

It's pretty simple for me, Mopar was the great innovator in the day that dared to be different and did so with style. You have the legendary HEMI that dominated for decades, the wing cars, lift off hood RR's, shaker hood Cudas... I could go on and on with all the cool colors, billboards, stripes and cartoon characters but you get the point.

Walked by Anshant Dodge in Allentown on my way to HS late 60's. Classmate had a 4 speed 67 GTX and laid rubber down Washington Street after dropping me off on the way home from school. One more. A 300+lb guy had a 70 Green Bee in the neighborhood where my Grammy lived. You could hear him coming. Had a goofy smirk on his face and just ROASTED them.
Mighty Mopars.

Need I say more! (me on the fender)

My dad was a Ford guy and he always bought Country Squire station wagons. The doubles as his work vehicle & family truckster. The coolest car he bought was a new 66 T Bird convertible. That really was a cool car to ride around in. When I got to be driving age, I didn't know what to buy, but when a school chum bought a 68 Charger with a 383 4-speed, that was it for me.

My first Car was a 69 318 Charger, 2nd was a 70 Charger with a 383 4 speed, 3rd car was a 68 Hemi Charger & my 4th was a 69 Daytona. All by the age of 20.

Father introduced me to mopars when I was 15, I fell in love with the 69 Charger i soon realized that it was out of my price range, I was still in high school working part time for $5 an hour maybe at a rv supply store. I bought a 75 duster with a 440 stuffed in it as my first and the rest is history. Since then I’ve owned another 74 duster, 67 barracuda 70 coronet 500 & my current 67 coronet.

My dad was a Chrysler man and his favorite saw wholesaler (dad sold and serviced chainsaws-put 3 of through college doing it ) came over with his family one Sunday with a brand new 1958 New Yorker Hdtp., he popped the hood to show me the 392 and it's been all downhill since!

Working in garages for a living, I hardly ever had Chrysler products to repair, always the other manufacturers. Even working at a Dodge dealership I was laid off because work was slow. I've owned a lot of other brand vehicles and always went back to Chrysler.

In high school all of my friends had Chevy products. I always dared to be different, so my first car was a 69 Charger, 318 beater. All of my friends laughed at me because it smoked like a chimney and was slow as molasses. My junior year in auto shop, I did the bodywork, painted it and installed a 440 out of a motorhome. With a DC cam and lifters and single plane 4 bbl, I had the fastest car in town. Needless to say, I got the last laugh. It has been Mopar ever since.

I'm not wed to a brand. My first car was a MOPAR (Cordoba) because my Dad got a good deal on it. I've had multiple brands (except Ford) all my life. I have a Super Bee because my brother, who has had several old MOPARS, told me to check them out when I was in the market for an old car. Otherwise, I would probably have bought a Z28.

That's awesome. When i graduated HS i bought myself a 99 dakota r/t and stroked it to a 408 while i was in auto school in community college and put a really awesome suspension on it. It would fly and handle well. I shamed many camaros and mustangs with it and would rub it in that they got beat by a yellow pick up truck

84 monte carlo, backed out of my moms driveway and the one bolt in the center of the rear wheel cylinders allowed the wheel cylinders to rotate in the backing plate pushing out the pistons and rods in the cylinder. 82 z28 rebuilt crossfire engine couldnt over take a 318 jeep Cherokee with its Windows up and ac on. I was trying to get on highway before he got off and i couldn't catch him.

The car I learned how to drive was a 1978 dart /6 light blue automatic I love that car until I smash it in my drive way , then when the time came I save my money and I have enough to buy my real 1st car I want to buy a yellow 1971 charger 318 I really like that car but my grand pa call me and convince me not to buy it ( stupid me I regretted until today ) instead I buy a 1994 Pontiac Bonneville this in 1997 ,it was a really cool car and I was 21 but i always wanted a charger 2gen but those car are almost impossible to buy and get here so one good day outside a taco joint a see this beautifull 68 coronet and I buy the the car in that moment , little I know how expensive this car is to restore but the car is complete little rust and am having a lot I fun while am work in the car

style - mopars have so many cool body styles/colors and everyone else has...well 1. chevy-camaro, ford-mustang, pontiac-GTO. ect. But for me growing up with the duke boys and my dad owning a 72 roadrunner as a daily pretty much sealed the deal.

I was five years old the first time I saw a 68 Charger R/T. It was on the other side of the gas pump. When I saw the attendant putting the gas in the top of the rear quarter,I thought that it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. Then the guy fired up the Charger and as I watched from the backseat of my moms Impala,he took off down the street blazing the tires sideways! I was hooked! Then My parents divorced, and my step father bought a brand new 70 Charger R/T SE. That was our family car until 1982. My brother in law had a beautiful 70 Challenger R/T 440 Sixpack car. I bought my first Mopar in 1980. It was a 69 Charger 318. When my mom was ready to replace the 70 Charger R/T SE,I wanted to buy it,but she wouldn't sell it to me. A friend of mine bought it. My mom said that I would kill myself in it.so I bought a Yellow 70 Charger R/T SE 440 4 speed car. I told my mom, that she should have sold me her car, because I bought one anyway. She replied, well if you kill yourself in that one, atleast I know I didn't give it to you! I still have my yellow 70 Charger R/T SE.
