I swapped out the speedo in my 68 Coronet. Gauges work fine, but only 2 lights work.. and radio light. The other lights for the fuel, etc do not work. Any guesses as to why? Is my board fried or is there something I'm missing? I've checked all the bulbs and they work fine.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

So the bulbs work but don't light ?? Confused ... did you swap bulbs around to check if they're good ? What about the sockets ?

The lights are fed power through the pin connector so if you have power on a few you should probably trace the circuit board for a broke or burned through circuit. And check continuity through the wire to the pin connectors as they can lose contact. The orange wire at 12 o'clock is the lamp feed.

Thank you very much guys. I will pull it out and test the board and connections.

Assuming worst case and there is a burnt or broken circuit.... how do I repair that? Are they lights in loop sequence?

Thanks again. Very much appreciated.

You can solder in a jumper wire to go across the broken contact points on the circuit board if needed ..

Or,just maybe; bend the 2 socket contacts upward for a better contact to the circuit board. ( it’s a stretch I know)

Thank you very much guys, pulled it out last night and turns out one of the light sockets wasn't making contact. After testing with a jumper wire, the rest worked fine. A little bending persuasion and she's good to go lol. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated!

Sorry to bring this up again... damn! lol The cluster bench tests without any issues. Put it back in the car and no lights on the dash. The radio light comes on and dims, but no speedo. Everything is plugged in.

Could I have a bad ground somewhere?

Make sure the orange wire going to the cluster has voltage with light switch on ..... I'd start there

Thank you, I'll try that today. Where does that orange wire get power from? Where should be my next test?

Fuse box, to headlamp switch .... do you have access to a wiring diagram ? If not you should get one, it'll come in handy more than you'd think !

This is really starting to drive me nuts! lol This is the latest....
I don't have lights in the cluster.
My front parking lights come on with one switch up.. When headlights are on full, the front parking lights come off. ????
My fuel gauge doesn't work either. Haven't dived into that at the sending unit yet, but could be related to this cluster thing.
I've checked the ground, everything has ground.. The dash frame, the cluster, etc.

I'm at a total loss here. Why are certain things working and certain not?
How many power wires should be coming into the light switch? I only have one live wire, the black with a white stripe.

Thanks again for the help guys. Much appreciated!

Pre 68 your parking lights are off when headlights are on.

‘68’s Park lights were off also w/helixes on. Are your prongs snug where the harness plugs into inst.panel?

This is correct... I never understood why the factory wired them that way :realcrazy::fool:

Finally got it figured out! Thanks for all your helps guys.
A couple of issues... LED's had to be installed a certain way. Positive to positive, negative to negative....Also has some issues with the pins on the back of the cluster, but finally got everything working but my hazzards. Only front right blinks??
