My 68 GTX has turn signals that do not work. All other lights work, flasher does work and makes all the lights blink, but I have nothing with the turn signal lever. Do I need a new one or wiring? Thanks

Sounds like the switch......check your connection at the column........

Need a schematic and a test light to be sure. Although if you had a known good switch, you could just plug it inplace of your installed switch, and re-check turn operation.

I installed a new turn signal switch and I am still without turn signals. I do notice I have no power coming from the red wire. I have the newest Power Probe I got for Christmas, but really don’t know how to use it yet. Any idea on where the red wire gets its power? Thanks

I think I may have found the problem. I found a completely burnt through wire going to the flasher. Its going to be a PIA to get to it but I will try later tonight.

Temporarily splice it with a short piece of good wire just to make sure it fixes the problem... though I suspect it will as a burnt through wires do a lame job of flowing electrons:rolleyes:
There should be two wires coming from that flasher, a black and a red... The black one brings power from the accessory position of the ignition switch(via a splice) and the red wire takes it to your turn signal switch

Well, it was the black power wire that was burnt. It was burnt all the way up the loom to just behind the ashtray! I had to find the beginning of it or it could have done a lot of damage. Tapped of the other part of the wire and I have blinkers!! Now I found out the alternator is not charging the battery. Yay
