After reading a few threads here that have members, using air shocks.....I thought I would throw this statement out and see if anyone else agree's.Have a good friend, at retirement age, licensed mechanic, who actually worked on the AMC Brampton plant assembly line, back in the day. Says, out of the big three, only Chrysler rear springs can be re-arched. Chevy and Ford springs crack and break.

I have also been told that some of the new HP springs available, are not up to the same quality as old stock.

Any light shed on this subject, is appreciated!!!

New stuff are made of overseas material.Quality ? it may or may not be as good as the USA made steel.Hear say ?
As far as re-arching I really can't say if Chrysler springs are better than the others. It has been years that I have been to a spring shop.Did allot of semi truck springs and frequently got to see them jiging and re-arching springs.
I do know that Chrysler was getting springs from Mexico as far back as 1978.

I have had this done in the past and they eventually flattened back out.......

I use Eaton springs.....

I agree with Eaton Detroit Springs. Good company run by good people.

Spring in my R/T re arched many years back car still sets good. Im o
Almost certain overseas springs will not be as high quality.

Eaton springs are American Made........

Typical life of a rearched springs is 2-4 years.....I have had 4 sets done by 2 reputable shops and they did not last......All eventually flattened out.....Even when they did the correct process of arching them.....They do it two ways and the high end places use heat versus the cheapo cold bend.......

To the OP do you research and you will see the majority will agree that arching is not the way to go......When buying new springs there are only 2 choices Eaton or ESPO......Eaton is pricey but are a higher quality IMHO, ESPO springs are nice and I have used them as well.

I've always fixed up the sagging spring problem with a set of Pro comp add a leafs. Summit Racings part #
EXP-13120 I used to be able to put a link un here but anymore when I try it says it has an extension that is not allowed.

I had this performed on another car back in the 1990s and was satisfied. Sold that car 4 years later and the springs were not sagging.
Plan on doing the same to my road runner once I get the time to pull the leafs.

mine were redone before i got the car i have reciridiculously low price charged to do it by todays standards. But its only been around 25 years ago when they were done. Appear to be holding up very well.

My Charger has ESPO springs for over 10 years......The GTX has Eaton springs, just a couple years.....

First set of pics show the eaton springs and to make them factory correct requires a little work and a few leaf transplants from the originals. Pretty much the same process for the Espo's......Liners, pads, insulators and brackets are from Frank Badalson and the eye bushings are NOS.....

When I bought my '65 Coronet in 1974 I arched then de-arched. Springs did fine with both processes Later made a couple of sets out of Super Track Pak sets & the '65 leafs. Many trips to the spring shop. Just did a mod to the SS springs I bought in the mid '90's & never used. My bet is they are not the the quality of the stuff from the '60's & '70's. My Satellite came with ESPOs, they worked well.

When i did the spring thing, my first tbought was Mopar super stocks. But after reading about cars sitting uneven, i went with aneven pricier brand, geometry correcting Hotchkiss. After my disappointment in the looks of what arrived, i learned they job it out to another shop.

Another disagree bandit with zero explanation.....imagine that!

pussies hitting buttons......

So you are saying I should be one of your Yes Man *******.

You didn't have to give **** about a guys flat sitting car. A stock wheel with wheel covers would look like **** with the so called Stance you have on you GTX.

Lol.....just want the puss to show his true colors......Thanks for typing pot mouth........:blah:

Higgins car is a beautiful ride and I love the car but the springs are flat....My observation.....I was quoted in that post, right? Had nothing to do with the rest of the car geez......

I know my GTX looks like poo poo....good thing is it is in my garage and not yours.....:bananadance:

So why have such a hard time with someone disagreeing with you.
Ok, yes you do have a beautiful GTX. All praise you. I have my own R/T and GTX 4-speed cars.

Lol...spin it whatever way it fits your ego.....Never had a problem disagreeing. I do have a problem with a childish act of hitting a button with ZERO explanation....that my friend adds no discussion.....The red "X" is a useless tool here.....kind like the one that used it earlier:realcrazy: Funny, "useless tool" that does fit.....

Apparently, you have some jealously issue which I have no clue as to why? Your words speak clearly of such.....

Praise is earned.......maybe I earned it, maybe I didn't in your mind......In any event thats great you have some Mopars...So do the majority here........
