Re-arching old Mopar rear springs

I do not disagree with your first point......I give a green check....

Maybe you should due the due diligence and reference the language and the crack on my car in the other post.....Or are you just one sided here Cranky?
Are you talking about the reference to the stance of your car? Just what exactly did he say that has rubbed you so wrong? IIRC, you're the one that threw the first rock with your pussy reference. Tell y'all both what....both of y'all can easily go stand in the corner for a few days if the crap don't stop. It should give equal time for both to sit and think about it some and decide if acting like 1st graders is all that it's cracked up to be. Now let me get this straight. You got jack up about someone giving you a little red x and so you called him a pussy so he comes back with a wisecrack comment about the stance of your car but doesn't throw out anything that could be considered derogatory.....and now here we are. It's up to y'all about what happens next but how bout doing a quick handshake and calling it a day?

By the way front stance looks has nothing to do with proper ride height. That is measured from the lower control arm and not the wheel opening. It is what it is.

I'm not mad at all...and how do you interpret this as saying your X looks like **** by him saying: "You didn't have to give **** about a guys flat sitting car. A stock wheel with wheel covers would look like **** with the so called Stance you have on you GTX." Btw, mods here also can report a thread or a post and all of the mods are notified of it and even the site owner will be too.....and no, this isn't one side in the least.

I quoted him as to what he said about your car.....did I get that wrong too or is that not what you are complaining about?

Did not want to start a pissing match, just wanted an opinion.... This all came about, when I saw air shocks , still being used. The only reason I mentioned re arching, was, 32 years ago, mine were rebuilt, as apposed to replaced and have stayed true. Have read stories of new M.P. super stock springs , out of the box, being of poor quality.Has the quality of steel used today better? Keep in mind, back in the day before they built our cars, they dug a hole, mined the ore, and foundered the steel, not mix up some pepsi cans a few honda's and a hyundi to make new steel. Would it not be worth using as much of the existing spring assembly, re arched, a couple of new leafs into the mix, to accomplish a pretty close to as delivered spring assembly?
Someone mentioned, closed 66 67 wheel, as opposed to 68 up open wheel. First gen Chargers introduced open rear wheel in 66.

You didn't start a pissing match. I too have used air shocks on cars for various reasons. I put them on my first car mainly because I was carrying a couple of hundreds pounds or so of work equipment in the truck and didn't care for the low rear look. A few cars I bought over the years had them on already and just left them on. Many have spoke about them taking out the shock mount that is welded from frame rail to frame rail but none of my cars ever had that problem. Maybe it has something to do with cars that were in the rust belt?

As for leaf springs....I've stacked my own most of the time and have rearched them too with good results with both but do not know if the quality of steel is better these days or not. As for the scrap content of the steel....that's been happening for a very long time. The content is a certain % and yes, it's controlled. Samples are pulled from the mix and then the steel is graded. The game is pretty exact and it's a known value as to how many Hondas can be added to it lol

Ohh my word.....I stated about several times......that's it

Below is an example of a side profile of a car parked....Notice the rocker panel from front to the rear...This car is an all original restoration...

So Higgins do take it as another poster is trying to portray I am knocking your car....I am not...I love your color combo and I am a fan of Coronets.....

My basis was only in relation to the springs...thats it IMHO....I will give my honest opinion and not sugar coat it....

Me likey - but she does have a little bit of rake to her. Were they supposed to?
My '68 has some rake to it with the original sloppy ol' springs, but that's mostly due to tire sizes.

Now I’m wishing I had kept better records. Got my rear bumper height measured at main gate of Camp Pendleton for being too high(?). All original in 1970, I think the MP was thinking I added air shocks or something( the reasoning for “too high”, I don’t know.

Wow....I drove on and off base at Lackland with open headers before lol. 1971

Had my springs done on my 62, wanted to raise it 1 1/2" from where it sat.
They rearched the springs and added a leaf to raise it to the height I wanted.
Took a month for it to settle but is has stayed there for 5 years.

hello that post about skirted guarter panel wheel opening on 66-67 as opposed to 68 up full wheel openings came from me. I was comparing my car to the charger and gtx mopar nation has installed new springs on, but you are correct and great observation.
