Mopar Nats, Columbus OH. August 10th - 12th

A bunch of us from the Cleveland area always park / hang out on the show side (west side) of the track along the fence line under the trees.

Stop on by and say hey.

I'm going to miss it this year :(
Hope you all have fun and take plenty of pictures to post!!

I have several friends racing there in KOS and Top Dog.Been getting my updates and a few going LIVE:bananadance:

Are they still cruising Bryce road? or did the cops get that shut down

The Brice Road scene is pretty much dead for the cruising of the Mopars. Over in the parking lot behind the Burger King and gas station on Brice Road, there is an area where everything from motorcycles, race cars to diesel trucks are doing burnouts in the parking lot. It is I would say a lots of the locals and most of them are in there early 20s. I am afraid that it is an area in which some day, someone is going to loose control and seriously hurt some people real bad. Hope that I am wrong, but just too much going on. I guess since it is private property, the police does not really step in as they have a presence on Brice Road itself.

That’s why I was thinking 12-2,1-2 on Sat. Fri/Sat would work also. Couple hrs oughta leave time for people to stop by at ur location.Last ur was my first in 30+ & it’s definitely smaller, but still good.

I am working on Friday, so we will be leaving Saturday morning early. We should be getting there around mid-day. Ill text Justin @moparnation74 and get the scoop.

First time going to the Nats and I am so excited!! I am on the hunt for 10 spoke Cordoba/Mirada wheels btw :D

Al @HEMI-ITIS are you goin??

Justin, I am confused. Are you guys looking to meet up at the covered pavilion behind the grandstands or my tent? You guys can use my location as a meet point, that will not be issue. If things go as plan, there should be an area between our tent and the Stephens / AMD tent which is being relocated over to the row in which we are located.

I would think, a covered area would be more appealing. Hopefully it will be dry and mild, but the last two years have been very nice, so we will have to see what Mother Nature has in store this year.

As an observation, for those coming and wanting to check out the judged show cars, check them out on Friday while they are being judged. Once the judging is completed on Friday, many of these cars end up in there enclosed trailers not to be seen again over the weekend. That is pretty much from 10 til 2 on Friday. The reason that I say that, is that if you guys are looking to meet up at a certain time, then certain activities may be going on that some may want to check out. So I would suggest getting some feedback on what works best for the group.

As I suggested before, I would think both a Friday and Saturday meet up would be best, unless you guys can decide 100% for one of the days. If you guys should be comfortable with it, I can have a note pad or poster board in which members can post a cell number so that others who may want to meet up, can arrange an alternative location and time. This would be kept in a designated area so that members could inquire for a cell number for texting purposes as I would not feel comfortable just leaving a list of numbers out for someone to grab and walk off with.

Just let me know what I can do to assist you guys and girls. I will hopefully be busy taking care of customers, but I can still assist as possible, especially in the preliminary planning.
Richard

I missed your post...been a busy few days.....We were thinking of meeting up at your tent......

Earlier Jeff(oldbee) posted up some times......Fri/Sat.....I think a meet up both days around noon to accommodate all may be best. I will be there fri and sat.....My plans are to be there when it opens and quickly scour what NOS may be there and then check out the judging and that will get close to the meet up time....

thoughts?

Justin and the others out there attending the event, I know from my perspective, I would suggest that on Friday, you might want to consider a 1:00 PM meet up. The reason that I say that, is that if you were to spin from 8:00 AM til 10:00 AM walking through the swap meet, then a 20 minute walk from the swap meet to the judging area, your at almost 10:30. Then you spend another two hours looking over the judged show cars, your at 12:30. Then a 15 minute walk back to the tent and your looking at 12:45. I think that I read somewhere that they had moved the judged show field area to an area closer to the swap meet area. If so, that will help in the walking from the area in which it had been in. Someone said that the old show field area will be used for parking. Does anyone know if there will be any cars going up for "OE" judging this year?

For Saturday, I would think that the 12 noon time would work fine. Whatever works with you guys will be fine with me. I am pretty much locked down to the location from the time that we get there till we finish loading up on Saturday evening.

I still have yet to receive my registration packet and have not got an answer back as to our location. And they wonder why people have such an opinion on the show. As soon as I find out our location, I will post here or text Justin the spot numbers so that the tent can be located. Right now, it should be approximately rows R and S in spots 17 through 30.

Now we got ‘marpar’ showing also, great. I’m looking at leaving home by 0800 on Sat. At least, the oldest coming with me. I have high expectations with meeting a few of you guys. ‘Chromalay’(?) shud be on other side of track, think I wandered thru their tent last year. Good lookin’ cars over there also. Both of the sons own Stangs(don’t know what the wife did wrong?!!!). I blame her.

Thanks for that information......1-2pm makes more sense on Friday based on how you laid the time schedule out above....

I do not know of any of my peeps entering a car in the OE judging.......Mine is dedicated to MCACN.....

I usually stay at the campground next to the track. Itryed to call them & got a recorded msg that they sold it to the track. I couldn’t get any info from National Trails so I don’t know if this is going to be an option this year.

That is what we usually do. I called both with no response so far. I have a convoy of Mopars coming down Thursday afternoon and I hope we have a place to stay. I cannot believe that the track or the campground would have made a more noticeable post or notification saying what was going on. Not sure what other options we are going to have for 15 people 3 race car haulers and 3 driver cars and misc bits for a successful weekend. I sure hope somebody gets back to us.

It's been a super busy summer so I haven't been on the forums as much as of late and just saw this thread.

My Dad and I will be there and I'll be driving the Satellite again. We travel on Thursday and attend all day Friday/Saturday then head home Sunday morning.

It looks like Friday around 1:00 is the time to meetup, correct?
