Anyone know why 2 of these have extra holes and what they are for? Can anyone confirm the numbers are 15x7 and 15x8? Also will this set hold Dodge caps or are they a missed matched set with the extra bump on the front?

Thanks for your help!

The later ones with the holes are from the 80's and have 4 bumps to hold the cap. Will do the same job.I find them mostly on the Grand Fury/Diplomat/RWD Chrysler New Yorkers of the 80's.

ok, thanks. The owner says they are stamped 15x7 and 15x6 but actually measure 8" and 7". He said they all wheel are 1" wider than stamped. Any truth to this?

They are measured from inside lip to inside lip and not from outside to outside so they would be 6” and 7” wide and not 7” and 8” wide.

Measure from the inside of the bead, not the actual outside dimension.

Great thanks guys! I need 15x7 to clear the front discs so these will not work.

In my case the 4 bump wheels held my hub caps on way better.

This is an interesting topic. Here's a picture of a spare out of a 67 R/T that has the holes. Car is in original state. This guy is the second owner as of '72 and he got the car from my family. Tire on the wheel is the original 7.75-14 Goodyear Power Cushion redline. Should be no doubt it's the original.

Looks like holes and bumps are well before the 80's.

My 57 Plymouth has lug bolts holding the wheels on and therefore has one locating dowel between 2 of the lugs. The wheels have the 5 extra holes like those. Maybe the manufacturers made them that way so they could be used on earlier cars.

I thought the extra holes signified it would get a full wheel cover, while the rims without the extra holes could be used as a spare or as a main wheel?

Those go way back.... the 20s, 40s ,50s cars had a alignment Pin.. so the wheel bolts would go in properly.

Try putting a newer wheel on that.. first thing in the way is the pin.. the diameter was to large on the pin. the newer wheel would not sit flush on the drum....also the Rivits are for the Center hub with bearing.. .. front and rear.. ..
