Is this a choice between an open chamber head like the stock late 440 902, 906 452 or an earlier wedge shaped head with a flat deck like the 915?
if so go with the wedge head and the dish piston
whatever you do your choice is to be based on how to get .030-.040 piston to head quench
on cam are you thinking solid, hyd or HR?
Is that carb vac secondaries?
if not I agree too big for a street car

Both are closed chamber edelbrock rpm heads. One is a 75cc and the other is a 84cc. Blocks going to be decked for .035-.039 quench. Just trying to figure out which would be better and with given the piston choices. After reading some of the replies, I'm inclined to go with the 74cc heads with the -26.7cc pistons. That'll give me 10.3 static compression.
Planning on a hydraulic roller for the cam and it has a holley super sniper 1250 taking over for carb duties.

I can never keep the open chamber head straight or is it the E head- and I do not care you were looking at the two good choices
If you want the best HR get a hold of Mike Jones his inverse radius profiles flat work better-there is a mechanical advantage that can't be duplicated with a flat flank cam
