I also have dash issues

I have a new dash harness.
A few days ago, I didn't have any dash lights (new bulbs and sockets...mostly)
The fuel and temp gauges didn't work either.
I replaced the circuit board, now the temp gauge works and the dash lights work whenevr the key is on
The dimmer turns on and off the dome light, but doesn't turn off the dash lights (both when light switch is on and off)
I unplugged the dimmer, hoping that it would kill the dash lights when the switch is off....it didn't
Sound like my dimmer is bad? or I have a short somewhere?
