I will have to replace the grommet seal where the fill tube goes into the gas tank. Will the tank have to be dropped in order to get the tube out and back in? Any tips? Also, I bought the OEM seal through Jegs. Anyone had any problems with these seals? Thanks in advance!!

I'm pretty sure you don't have to drop the tank, just the fuel level below the fill tube. I have not heard of any problems with the seal from Jegs, although perhaps someone else will chime in on it. I do recall recommendations of using a special lubricant on the seal so you don't distort it upon re-insertion. Good luck!

You may have to take it loose so it can be moved around. No reson to drop it. Lots of things the seal can be lubed with from dish soap to vasoline.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the comments. Tube came out with no problem. Figured it would be longer than it was.

Its only been 20 years that I had mine out. Was not on count of the filler. The tank needed some work.

Got the seal replaced and fill tube back in. Wasn't too bad of a job. Now to put gas in it and check for leaks. Thanks for all the comments guys!
