I need confirmation that this is an 8" wide wheel. I have the same wheels all the way around and I want to put 275/60R/15 tires on the back. I believe it is an 8" wheel, bit need help from my FBBO family!
Thanks,
Steve

I don’t know how you tell if it’s 8” wise by just looking at a pic. It looks like it is by the dish depth. No guarantees on that......

Hey, thanks. I understand that it is tuff to be sure. I figure that if I get enough confirmations from folks that have American Racing Torque Thrust D's that I should be safe.

Take a tape measure or 12" ruler and measure inside your wheel between spokes from wheel lip to wheel lip.

Should have the size cast into one of the spokes on the inside.

If you continue to have difficulty get proper measurements, i will take the car off you're hands before you get hurt....hows 500 bucks cash sound.:realcrazy:

Any reputable tire store will have a caliper or what ever it's called to measure rim width on the car.

I think I get it. You are speaking from where the rim is mounted on the inside of the tire bead to the outside of the rim, correct, or am I missing something?

I believe I have heard of that, but never have had a need to have it done. I will check it out before I buy the Mickey Thompson S/T's. Thanks!

I get it....thru the Torque Thrust spokes.....never thought about it. Thanks.

By the way, nice car AND nice wheels !
Hey, thanks, thanks, and NO that's not my shop, Ha! The wheels are vintage [I believe] '60's era American Torque Thrust D's. I have received so many great answers to my question about the wheels.....Glad to be a FBBO member!

Take a lug nut off. If it's a mag nut with a shoulder, it's vintage, if it has a conical seat, it's new. (I'm betting on new). I have some vintage american tt's and some new.
Oh, btw the others are right, that wheel is perfect on that car.

Thanks for the comment about the car and wheels!
A conical seat being one with a rounded/tapered bottom end where it rests against the wheel, correct? I think I understand a shouldered nut. I just may post a pic of the nut [if I can get a good shot] so we ALL know the difference in the lug nuts. Super bit of trivia!

New american racing wheels have size and series(vr-whatever) inside a spoke, or somewhere on the back, except on custom orders.
