Hello everyone
First post ever. Here is my issue. I can buy an exhaust for my B body for $800. I can buy one for say a 68 B body for $300.
What is the difference. What mods will I have to do to make a 68 Roadrunner fit my 65 Coroner. (Headers back)

Do you have anyone local that can bend pipe?

Check with Summit racing for a cheaper kit?

Different dimensions from the earlier to later B bodies. How handy are you with a welder?

Full exhaust kit wise?

The most inexpensive complete exhaust kit I have found is by Summit racing or Jegs. There mufflers are pretty good in sound. They do not come with an X or H pipe. Adding one of There H piles is easy. I have not had to modify anything on the car. Some pipe cutting might happen in order to fit it perfect at a point or two. The tail
Pipes on my Duster where a hair long and I took off 2 inches. Then used turn down tips.

Doing it for less probably isn’t possible unless you own the equipment to mandrel bend pipe. Or your cutting & cobbling U & J bends yourself.

If you doing a racy type exhaust, 2 length at 4 feet, 2 mufflers, two hangers.... it don’t get any cheaper than that! LMAO!!!

I'm going to run to Summit and pickup the 68 B body and try to mod it to my 65. I do have a Mig and torches and pretty handy. Soon as I figure more out on this post I'll Send a few picthers. My coronet spent most of its life on the quarter mile. Actually in pretty good shape. It's a factory 4 speed which I had to put back in. Somebody had a automatic in there for racing.

Im going to try the 68 b body exhaust. It's about $500 less than the 65. I have a welder and torches. Here are pictures of before and after.
