I'm wondering if chrysler used the same rear quarters on both the 79 300 and dodge magnum. I know the doors, hood and front and rear lights and related parts are differ, but the fenders, trunk, and quarters maybe interchangeable. Comments??

the rolling chassis is all the same i know this because my magnum is actually the rolling chassis from a 79 Cordoba i cant say its a magnum because i could get in big trouble with the state and federal government so its titled as a 79 Cordoba even though it has all dodge magnum body parts on it.

I know the trunk lids are the same.

oops my fault your right thats the only bolt on body panel thats the same like i said i bought a 79 Cordoba rolling chassis with the the original 68,000 mile 360 4bbl and trans . that was it though it was gutted out my magnum had a bad frame so i bought the cordoba shell and transferred every thing over to the cordoba.

I believe the deck lids are the same, I think the rear quarters are the same but have different filler panels to accommodate the different taillights. The B-Body uni-body would all be the same then fitted with the front end panels and doors.

feel free to correct me :)

If you look at both cars fenders, doors, quarters, you will see the difference. Magnum has bulges that flow into the doors from the front fenders and doors to quarters. The Cordoba (300) does not. Deck lids may be the same looking at the photos.

it's the doors that are different , not the quarter panels. it's kind of like the 71-72 charger doors , the body line do not meet together ,where the 73-74 doors are one continuous body line , but you can use any 71-4 door on any 71-4 charger

You cannot put 73-74 doors on a 71-72 Charger or vice versa.

78-79 Cordoba and Magnums use the same quarter panels and trunk lid.
