1970 Dodge Cornet with a transplanted 440 in it. Was running fine, no issues.

The other dat the Fuesable link that runs from the Starter Relay to the Firewall connector went.

I replaced it and it was starting running fine.

Last night, started fine, drove fine, car did not run hot.

Stop for ice cream, come out, turn key and nothing. I have lights, horn, I have 12 v to the starter relay.

I jump the starter relay and the motor turns over.

Inside, when I turn the ignition to the "acc" point I have nothing, no fan, gas gauge or aftermarket gauges, When I go to start it, I have nothing.

I replaced the starter relay today, that did not help... again 12 volts to, and I can jumper it to get the starter to engage.

I checked the fuse panel, the accy fuse is fine, I replaced it just incase... still no power or crank.

Any and all suggestions appreciated

How would I test it? That is what I was leaning towards.

So you have checked everything but the ignition wiring? Did you find the cause of the fried link or just replace it?

I don't have a schematic, but pull your switch and check continuity through it.

Check. Not replace. I replaced the ignition switch when tracking down the bulkhead problem. At least service the bulkhead. Good maintenance even if not the cause. Remove gently, spray profusely and replace.

Could have some corrosion almost anywhere. Fuse box, bulkhead, etc, etc. Dare I add a bad ground somewhere? Bad neutral safety switch.

^^^^^^ go back and start from here^^^^^^

Something drawing too much current.
Look for a short. Firewall. Junction block. Steering column.

Ignition switch would be suspect, second is the column connection.......But the link frying would warrant a full safety inspection of the dash wiring and the bulkhead......

I have a similar problem. If i turn the switch I get nothing. I tore the switch apart today after checking continuitity of the yellow wire to the red when in the start position and got 260ohms (should be 0). The terminals were worn and coroded so I think a replacement is in my future.

Check continuity against the red wire: Yellow and brown should be 0ohm in start and the blue and black should be 0 at run. Black should be 0 at acc. I might be totally ignorant on 70 models, but the 74 service manual has the best wiring diagrm for switches if you want a good reference.
