If anyone has one of these original type radio antennas:

I'd really like to know the diameter of the threaded part that sticks up through the fender.
Also, if you can get it, what is the dimension from the fender underside to the bottom of the elbow?
THANKS!!

If I have the correct piece you’re talking about - I measure mine at 1”. Can’t get to the other piece

The threaded portion is 3/4”.......I’m missing the under side fender bracket to provide second measurement, however if it helps, from the top shoulder @ base of thread portion, to center of elbow (cable insert) is 1-5/16”.....& if needed, to bottom base 1-11/16”....overall part length 3-1/8”...measurements off orig 69 AM base. Hope this helps... Jim

Thanks much fellas, I appreciate all the help.
When I first got the car almost 8 years ago, it had the remnants of an angled antenna base/cable that came with it loose off the car.
I foolishly pitched it out since it looked like hell.
Strange situation with the existing hole in the fender for an antenna - it's not where it "should be" (there's an old thread on here somewhere
where folks ripped me ragged about this when I asked about it) but instead a much smaller diameter hole is way back in the corner of the fender:

Weird, but I figured it must have been a dealer installed thing or I dunno… the hole is "punched" vs. drilled/cut in the double
layer sheetmetal in that location; the edges of the hole are obviously rolled nicely vs. sharp and flat, so somebody used something
like a Whitney punch or some such machine on it.
Someone is now reproducing the antenna in my first pic above and I'm thinking I'm going to give it a try, since I know for
fact no straight bodied one will work in this area (no room) and I'm not even going to drill the "correct" hole in this fender.

Thanks again!

No problem. If you need any other measurements/photos of the inner or outer fender areas let me know. By the way....I got a kick out of your “dreaded red X” post, and really enjoyed & can relate to your “nobody believes me” post. Glad your doing good. Jim
