Gen 1 hemi 392 in a 65 B Body???

Do you have any pictures of this swap? I would love to see them. And the fact you kept the original suspension is remarkable.
I have a picture of the engine in the car. I also used a single piece elephant ear front mount, worked perfectly (I still have the pattern)two seperate "ears" are prone to allowing the engine to rock. the engine was no issue installing it is in exact same place as the '64/5 Hemi B body's. I wanted it to look factory.

I built this '53 Chevy PU a few years ago. '54 331 Hemi / turbo 350 trans. Heidts Mustang II front suspension with a Firebird 10 bolt posi rear. Ran great and had no issues with suspension whatsoever.

anyone every seen a 392 hemi gen 1 in a 65 B body. I’ve got a 65 Coronet and a 392 Hemi... wondering if it’s possible to do without too much cutting and modifying
wish I lived in Redwood city instead of BF Missouri

side note- if you are using a 392 Hemi, use 426 Hemi rods, they need to be narrowed .020 and use big wrist pins but that makes getting rod bearings easy.

When you said Dart, my mind went to A body. Keep forgetting 62s where B bodies.

I pu

I put a 426 hemi in my '62 Dart wagon that was a slant 6 car,I didnt' do anything with the torsion bars,it was OK
has anyone put coil over suspension on a B body using the uppershock mount area and did it need re-enforcement.

This was far more than just beefing up the torsion bars....

I didn't add coil overs ,I was asking if any has used the upper shock tower to install coil overs. I'm having miserable computer issues- it took 12 minutes to get to the point of this comment after opening the mail.

One of the members here has one in a 63 dodge. "Speedchangesyou" is the name I think. I have a 392 in my 40 ford had to put some clearance pockets in the inner fenders for valve cover clearance. it fits fine an as the photos show the 40 ford narrows in toward the front.

Just info : The Gen III early "B" swap, TTI makes engine mounts and headers to do it.

The shock mounting area isn't strong enough to support the weight of the car using coilovers. Most aftermarket K members have the coil over shock mounts built in because of this.

I thought about doing this in my '64 Belvedere several years ago. Turned out the engine I was told was a 392 was a 354, so I didn't do it. This site has good info and resources on adapting a 392 to a non 392 car.

I say go for it if you want. It would be a cool, unique set-up.
I have one more 440 to do, then I am going to build a bad *** 354 with '55 331 heads. No substitute for cubic inches, you say ? How about Jahns 12.5 to 1 pistons !! Going in a straight axle, flip front end '55 Chevy. That'll piss off Mr. Goodwrench.

perfect.
the 426 Hemi valve covers in my willys cleared the fenders- the duel magneto's did not, to bad for the fender and hood.
