So I was worried at first as the red wasn't covering up. But it turned out to be a blessing. It kept me from putting on to heavy of a coat at once. I put 4 light coats on about 1 minutes apart . As soon as the last coat went on I waited 1 minutes then started pulling the red stripe tape. Worked great and looks pretty good for my first try. IlI' give it a day or 2 to cure then start the next color

So back to the grille. So I am going to do the satin black next . Got everything taped off.

Next I used satin black paint from totally auto. I painted the back side of the ribs first then the edges before flipping it over to paint the other side.

Pull the tape off as soon as it's painted. So far so good.

Dark argent next.
I also scored another buddy seat. My hinge covers got lost so had to find a couple. Luckily I scored a whole unit for 34$! Finally something went my way.

Scored this at Mopars on the Mississippi, had the hard to find splice cover & corner pieces. I just need to just turn them blue.

So I got around to the dark argent on the grille.

Taped and ready to go.

So first I wanted to test the 2 different paints I have. 1 from totally auto, and one from hobby lobby.

I know this doesn't show very well, but the hobby lobby paint looked better to me. So that's what I'm using.

This paint has a substantial build to it. It takes a while to set. Also you have more time to get the tape off.

So it turned out pretty good for my first time. I think I will use a black for the base on the argent to make it a little darker. I noticed my other grille the argent looked darker. So I will test it out first to confirm that.

Thanks Goon! It's definitely a test of patience. Luckily this is my practice grille. I think my good one will be better.

Your doing a great job on your grill. You had better get some work done on it because I can feel hunting season in the air. :elmer:Archery season is in full swing here.
