Can someone please tell me if a 1969 Roadrunner 383/4sp with factory air conditioning had a group 24 or group 27 battery? I think a 383 with no ac had a group 24.

Hope this helps.....Service Manual Pg 8-99, SM doesn’t indicate if standard/special equipment pertains to air conditioning though....ever get your engine in...Jim

Thanks Jim for the info. No I have not gotten the car back from the body shop. I should be getting it back in the next week. I will post some pictures then.

I believe it’s a group 24 - but would wait for another to chime in.

Gotta go with getX’d until moparnation74 chimes in.

Factory air on a Road Runner?
hmmm.gif
I didn't think that was an option.

I looked in my '69 FSM cooling section and it does not show A/C as being available on the Road Runner 335 HP 4 BBL motor. That's why I'm baffled.

More than likely the 24. Personally I would install the largest the would fit the box. 27 with at least 900 cca.

A/C was available as an option on 69 Road Runner but when you checked that box, you automatically got the 330 horsepower (turquoise) 383.

Hi Ranger16, H51 was the option code for ac in 69. Here is a pic of the heater box and the ac control switches. Hopefully Moparnation74 chimes in.

If I remember correctly, in addition to the 330 HP, factory air wasn’t available with a 4-speed.....

Drop top is correct all 69 RR 383 engines with ac where turquoise. Air grabber was also not an option with ac. Here is an older pic of my engine in turquoise.

My tag shows D21 and H51. Probably not to common with a 4 speed.

FBBO bat-signal... @moparnation74
In the roadrunner line the only standard for a group 27 was for a hemi....

The added option for non hemi cars was F25 code....So ck your BS.....

If not coded for F25 then the standard is group 24 for roadrunners.....

I have a 318 Charger the tray holds a 27, I put in a 27 lots of reserve power for playing the radio.
