The bezels were in fairly good condition to start with. The areas that did need attention were sprayed with a black low gloss high temp paint. Lots of Qtips and lacquer thinner to clean up over spray after drying.
I started taping off the bezel using 1/4" stripping tape. I didn't have enough patience for that. So I resorted to the Qtip method.

Not exactly chrome, but I think the AAR bumpers came out OK. Started installing the Legendary seat covers. Fit & finish is really nice.

What did you use for paint on the bumpers.. They look great

streetwedge did you use your standard bumper hangers. your project is looking great i like the color tone of the interior. going to make the exterior pop even more.

I used a Chromabase fine silver. Five coats of Nason clear.
I decided to use the stock bumper brackets. I know, heavy and bulky. But my reasoning was if I get the coins to have my steel bumpers rechromed in the future, it's just a matter of removing the glass ones and bolting on the original steel ones. I like what malex did with his, but I kinda wanted to keep the stock, sleeper look.

Finished the seats today. Front seat was a b--ch. Had to completely rebuild it. Foam turned to dust and had to replaced two springs. At any rate, they're done.
Now, SMS says the door panels will ship in the next week or so. Same BS they said back in April, May, June and July.
I'm trying to stay positive.

its looking really nice the color combo is great. leave the glass bumpers makes people think about it. yep the waiting game on parts suck but it's what it is. enjoy your ride again looks great

Wow! SMS set a new record. Received the door panels Friday. After so many false delivery dates, I was beginning to think you could be "Kinda Pregnant".
Cleaning up my original metal uppers and attaching to the panels was a PITA. Either I still had some contamination on the metal or my glue sucked. The vinyl didn't want to stick. I'll definitely try something different on the front panels.

its really looking good. try cat glue for gaskets that stuff works great i don't have the part number but if want it i can it get it.

Thanks, I'll try to find some Cat Glue. Been doing upholstery for years using contact cement. First time I've had any real trouble with it. I'm leaning towards it's gone bad sitting for so long.

trust me once you use that cat clue you never go back.

i like the green stuff

hope i can lean on you when i get to my interior. i know very little about interior

Well, she's done. Other than tweeking the carburetor. Seems the air/fuel mixture screws aren't doing much. All four are closed and still ldles fine. Maybe a vacuum leak? Maybe secondaries are cracked open?
