I have a question that I'm not 100% sure of. Is a rear end from a 59 Ply. the same width as a 64 Dodge B-body? I did some measuring and they seem to be the same width. Just wanted to Confirm this with you guys.
Thank!

Got any pictures? Measure length flange to flange, measure spring perches as well

Put an a body 8.75. , it fits with little work !

Not sure what your trying to do here but the narrowest rear I've found is from a 63. You can order Newer style axles from Cass at Dr. Diff and use 65 up backing plates with whatever backing plate-drum combo you want...
First pic is a 63 Polara rear at 53 5/16" flange to flange
Second is a 65 Belvedere rear at 54 5/16" flange to flange.
Its only a 1/2" on each side...
Do whatever you want but there are good ways to get around using the old style axles these days...

check the bolt pattern of the tube ends where the backing plate bolts to as there is a transition year to the better known 8.75/Dana ends we now all know and love. I'm not sure if it was 58 or 59 this change occurred on the 8.75 housing ends.

finding information on the net is tough...they are known as the Forward Look...but in reality, they the Forgotten Look..just not a popular series for retro.
