Im looking to find out how old this tire is. Previous owner thought it was the original. If it is the original, I’d like to keep it with the car. Code is US41031.

No date code there. Date codes started later.
Pre 2000 is a 3 digit code and post 2000 is 4 digit. It's the last three or 4 of DOT code.
269 - 26th week of 89 or 99
2609 - 26th week of 2009.
Looks like an old, original, tire to me.

Goodyear tires had dates back as far as 1952.
Here you go. You should be able to document what you have to see if it is correct or not.

Thanks. That’s what I figured out as well. Car has an app date of 1/6/69 so I guess it was either a warranty tire or changed out at some point.
