Going to look at a 1968 Road Runner tomorrow. I have a picture of the fender tag, but the online decoders are not giving me much information. Can someone on here decide it for me ?

Would also like to know where to find any other identifying stamps in the body that would verify the it's a true Road Runner.

Thanks

For starters the VIN plate on the dash needs to start with 'RM'

Trying to upload a picture, but keep getting a security error.

On the lower right of the fender tag the will be a set of numbers. These are the SO #s and you should find it stamped on the radiator support on the drivers side ahead of the battery tray. You should also find it stamped on the rail of the trunk lip on the drivers side halfway up the trunk opening. It will be partially or completely covered by the weatherstripping. The VIN should start with WM. There may or not be an SO # stamped on the engine block on the top rear in the area of the oil pressure sending unit along the lip where the bellhousing meets up to the block. There is a pad on the block under the distributor that should have D383 and an HP stamp on it for a 68 motor. Hope this helps...

Fender tag below. I've tried to use the on-line decoders, but had a hard time with aligning the information into the de-coder.

Thanks vintage chromoly!

These mopar boards are an awesome resource!

The car does have the build sheet, so it's just a matter of finding the body stampings to verify everything.

I've been wanting a RR 4 speed post coupe since I was a kid.

That’s a really cool one in my opinion.
4 speed and 355 gears is a great combo. Color is great too!

My 340 Duster has a 340/4 speed/3.55 sg combo too.

Thanks again for decoding.

What part of Ohio are you in?
