Cool car. Did you buy it from a guy at the Nats last month?

Nice project ahead of you!

Are you sure on the 3.91? I thought PB was standard from the factory for that gear ratio?

That aside very cool car....Do a build thread here...

Amazing find! Starting with a good body sure makes for a nice project!

Yes I sure did. He had it there, I believe on Saturday. I first saw it at the Monster Mopar in Norwalk late July. His price was more than I wanted to pay so I walked away. I had disc replacement surgery in my neck Aug 1st, missing the Mopar Nats for the first time in 31 years. I figured it would sell there. Called him back after the Nats and made him an offer. This car was bought to drag race from day one. Only car I've ever had that looks new under the dash. Absolutely no hint of mods to original wiring.

No RR horn button? Never seen that steering wheel before. Cool solid car.

I've only seen a couple like this. This is pretty much a Belvedere with A31 High performance axle package and 383HP 4 speed. 14" redlines with hubcaps. W11 Deluxe wheel covers and R11 AM radio (which still works) the only options other than the A31. Real stripper.

Great find! Glad he came down to earth on the price. Rust free is a gift from Heaven!

I know that it is time consuming and sometimes it seems like why bother, but if you would please, document everything that your able to. Not only will it make it easier to reassemble if you should decide to do a full blown restoration, but it adds credibility to the car and the restoration itself.

For the purist like myself, the attention to details that an untouched car hold is the reason that the true survivor cars have made such a jump in desirability. So many restorations are nothing more than a cosmetic update to a car. Not to say that you can not adapt the rebuild to your liking, but simply taking pictures of components will give the hobby the background on how parts were attached, where the paint line broke, etc.

The car is very neat in that it is a true example of what the Road Runner was built to be. A bare bones muscle car. In this day and age, most of them were beat into the ground within the first ten years and fortunately yours has survived.

Good luck and enjoy it!!

I talked to him for quite a bit on the Friday of the Nats. Nice solid fairly original car. And the best part is their is not a lot of metalwork to do. Surprised he didn't sell it that weekend. Said he didn't want to drive it home and was motivated to sell.

I agree. The seller was allot more motivated to sell after driving the car home from the Mopar Nats than he was at Norwalk a few weeks earlier. Sounds like he was at the Nats longer than I thought. A couple of days at least. Sticker says he had it in the car corral.

I like it!! Bare bones and solid. Good score!

looks great, love the Cragars. I'd drive it as is for a while and have some fun.

Yes that's my plan for a few months then talk to my paint guy and see about getting him to paint it over the Winter. I think I've about got all the parts it needs now or on their way except the bumpers. I think I'll have the originals rechromed. They are in pretty good shape.

You keeping it B3 blue? Sure don't see many in that color. There was a 69 Coronet R/T in our small town 35 years ago in B3 with a black rump stripe. I remember thinking what a nice color combo that was.

Yes I sure am keeping it B3. I agree that you just don't see many B3 cars. Lots of B5 and a few B7's here and there. I plan to stay stock on it as well, except for the Cragars. The only original part the car was missing is the 4 standard rims. Oh and 1 of the deluxe wheel covers.

I saw a '69 B3 road runner at The Nats a few years back...beautiful car. And the Cragars are the cherry on top.But them I'm biased.
