1964 Fury Street Wedge 4 Speed Convertible Project

Auto metal direct makes the best sheetmetal, and most suppliers sell it. Check their website to see what is available for your 64. I have heard that year one sells the best wiring harnesses.

Nice find! A 426ci 4spd is where I'm hoping to go with my 64 Dodge convertible.
AMD floor pans are a good fit. The only cowl patch available that I could find was from Sherman. Not very good quality though. Hope you won't need it.

Having restoed my '63 convert that is a CA car and never saw salt, I was surprised to find two areas that had rusted enough to warrant piecing in new metal detected once the car was stripped down: the lower-most section of the truck floor and a small section on the left quarter panel right behind the stabilizing panel converts have at least the '63 has. Rust here was a series a of dozen or more pinholes likely due to the holes from the side trim allowing water to enter and sit behind the panel. The factory coating used hardens over years and cracks exposing metal. There were a couple other small sections under the rear wheel where the quarter takes a big bend. I heard these cars also had rust points below the quarter windows at the base of the body - plugged drain holes you know from dirt. The droptops had more opportunities for rust spots due to the top...

Amazing how these ultra-rare cars can still be found!

Here’s a few more photos I took last week when I went and paid for the car.
I was recommended to start a thread in the 62-65 section so I’ll be updating just that one going forward. You can follow it here if you like.

Very cool car, but I'm biased. I bought a '64 Fury 'vert in similar condition 12 years ago. Just got it on the road this summer with a 440/4-speed. Too much fun! For the floors, I purchased a complete floor pan from a 4-door. It came from the dry south west. Buddy of mine welded it in from joint under the seat to the bumper. Had to cut the tops of the rear wheel wells to allow room for the top. Otherwise, it dropped in. Got it delivered to my house for $1000.
