How fast do you go?
How did you do it?
What did you use?
List up your drivetrain and suspension mods!
 
Buddy of mine was going low 11's with a fully loaded 70 Challenger.....and I mean fully loaded. Every option that was possible is on this car. Haven't talked to him in awhile so do not know if he's still running it. The engine has a fairly mild cam, headers, heads have some port work but mostly just pocket porting....4.10 gears.
 
I’ve been 10.95 in the roadrunner through mufflers @ 4000# race weight. That was with vacuum carbs. Haven’t ran the mechanicals yet. I’m sure it has some left in it uncorked and some better leaf springs.

I have read a side-by-side dyno report on a RB stroker with some go fast parts, topped by a modern race carb and intake, vs the Chrysler/Edelbrock 6bbl intake and Holley carbs, and the torque numbers and spread was better on the 6bbl, with a slight advantage in HP on the high end of the RPM scale for the 4bbl, but less than 20 horsepower.
:lowdown:IQ52 has built some great strokers and hi-perf 6bbl big blocks. I'm sure he could chime in.
PurpleBeeper is a contender as is Wookie.
I will top my future stroker motor with my 6bbl setup I'm using now, freshly modded by Promax.

My Charger is a turd. It is just a little ole +.030 440 with a mild cam & less compression to make it pump gas friendly. Think the best was like a 12.86 but that is a 4490 lbs (R/T S.E. loaded with options) on standard radial tires. It does have a couple of hundred passes on it but I haven't ran this car in many years now.

First thing is, the weight of the car is a lot and you still run in the 12’s. I bet it can basically drive anywhere.

I'll let you know. My 440 is going to the machine shop next week for a rebuild...pump gas stroker, aluminum heads, 6bbl, stock manifolds. My goal is to look stock but run like hell!!!

Yes, I drive it every where. Cruise nights, car shows, back & forth to work etc. I have about 30,000+ miles on this engine since I rebuilt it. Nothing fancy. Factory block, heads (w/hardened seats), intake/carbs, valves, crank, rods resized with ARP bolts, JE 10.5:1 pistons, Total Seal Rings, Comp XE292 cam & lifter kit. Trans has Trans go shift kit, convertor is a PTC 3200 10", Rear end is all stock Chrysler (4:10's).
 
496 inch stroked RB.
.575 Comp solid roller.
440 Source CNC's Stealth Heads.
.430 gear (too much gear for the stroker)
9.5" Dynamic Converter
M & H 275-60-15
3" Flowmaster through the original tips
I run a 500 cfm center carb...mod'd with6-pak linkage

Ran 11.07 @122.8...drive it everywhere...except the freeway.

Back in the day, my '65 Coronet went 11.90 - with my 426W 12.0 CR 585 GK cam, 4.89 gear, modified stock leaf springs, 11.5 tire, 3700#. It sure lots of tinkering to get the 6 BBL to work good. Can be done. Six packs have so many variables. Takes time and understanding of how a card really works. BTW the year of the carb system does make a difference. For some reason my 70 carbs were simpler to figure out than my '69 or '71 versions. No don't know why.

Thanks. I’llnhave to break out the carbs to read the numbers again. I have been stalled on the build. (Did the wife’s car first) it’s a 360 to be stroked and the rear carb is a big block carb.

Thanks for the compliment. We share that feeling. This one was purchased new by my grandfather. It was a 383 column shifted automatic. Still is column shifted, but had to upgrade to six pack as they are and were my dream car. Thanks again. Tom
 
Spring '71 at the local Dodge dealer, 15 - 20 6 BBL Super Bee's + a couple Runners. Every color available on the A-12's, dealer demo's 6,000 - 11,000 miles. Price was super reasonable. Although my parents had no idea about the car, they understood the insurance rates that came with those cars. Oh well. My main desire was a '70 Cuda anyway.

I have the closest thing to an A-12...
A 70 V-code Roadrunner
My respect and admiration for the A-12 is eternal though because without the A-12, the V-code may have never been, and the existence of both is a high water mark for Mopar like the Max Wedge and Gen 2 Hemi. GM, particularly Chevrolet with solid lifters and aluminum factory parts, high compression ratios had some killer big block motors like the L-88 and 425 H.P. 427, and the 440 6bbl gives me something to point to and say it is a high output contender that is easier to live with from a CR/pump gas and cam perspective (although the 6bbl can be tedious) that made a mark for Mopar. When combined with a bare bones A-12 package, or a properly setup V-code car it is a contender.
 
The '70 versions were also very impressive. Knew several of the '70 Runner versions. Again, for what it's worth, for some reason my '70 6 BBL carbs worked the best. I had OEM '69 end carbs, I had '71 complete. The 70's worked the best & simpler to get to work, Unfortunately most "street" folks didn't figure out how to make the 6 BBL work. I benefited by getting real deals on the 6 BBL set ups. A single 4 BBL is easier, but with with the effort, the 6 BBL is still great.
