I was wondering if anyone might know what the correct tires would have been for a 1974 Plymouth road runner with the optional 15 inch styled road wheels? The 74 sales brochure is of no help.

well , the 14" inch steel wheel with a full wheel cover , and a 14" road wheel were available. the only 15" wheel that I can think of would have been a 15x6 Rallye wheel. the sales brochure should show them.
I already know what wheel that it has. It has the optional 15x6 styled road wheels ( not rallyes). I am looking for the correct tire and size that would have come on this wheel.

I would guess a F or G 60. But would be more likely to go with the F60. The G60 would have gone on 15x7 wheels.

gotcha , I was reading too fast , thought you meant wheels

From the 74 sales brochure.

Chrome-styled road wheels
The 15" style shown available in handling package only. GR70x15 steel belted radial ply WSW tires are required.

for some reason I have it in my head that those other 15" " road wheels " were C body only.

Comes with the handling package. Also part of the GTX package on 74 Road Runners. But they were mostly used on C bodies. But on some 1/2 ton trucks as well. The Adventurer package maybe.

So I don’t have a build sheet for my 74 road runner GTX so are you saying that the 15” road wheels would be standard on the GTX package?

I'm confused.

Are we discussing the "Magnum 500" style wheels with trim rings?

That brochure seems to show C body wheels.

I've never seen those on a 73/74 B body from the factory.

...also I'm not sure I'm aware of factory 15" Magnum 500 style wheels even the pained/trim ring style.

These are the 15" chrome styled road wheels. Only pic that I have and it has the later style centers.

Does your car have torque boxes?
Yes it does. It also has the heavy duty leave springs with seven leaves on the right side and six on the left. It has 3/8 fuel line with a return line and a vapor separator on the high-volume mechanical fuel pump.

I have never seen these wheels installed from the factory on a 1974 or earlier B body car.

Anyone else?

They definitely were a factory option just not seen often. I recently sold a 74 road runner 400 car that also had these wheels from the factory. there is a silver frost metallic with red stripe 74 Road Runner 360 car that is a documented survivor That recently sold and has those wheels also. If you do an Internet search you will find it on Gateway Classics.

Here's a page from the 1974 Plymouth data book. It may help.
