And THAT is the reason I will never do a full blown show quality restoration... I would be bankrupt lol.

Deep pockets guys ruined this and every other hobby they touched. When you pay 2 million bucks for e body that in all honesty were poorly made when new. What else can you say.

Just who here would build a true OE car? If not that why are you complaining. Even at a third of those prices you would still whine.

In the scheme of things there is little to none true NOS left. Building a day one car is near impossible today. So with such little parts left the prices reflect such.

Some attitudes reflect why they are not well liked here no matter how high they try to get their post count daily....

I get a kick out of how far some folks are willing to go (monetarily and time spent searching and networking) to source this stuff. Serious dedication.

Simple supply and demand.
Nobody ruined anything for anybody.

What does "better than NOS" mean? Wouldn't that just be an aftermarket driveshaft:p

It’s all relative fellas.
Some people would submit that owning any kind of hotrod is a stupid waste of money.

I collect vintage BMX bikes and memorabilia. I’ve paid some stupid money for seemingly insignificant items. It’s free market capitalism at work. Highest bidder gets the goods.

I watched this hobby change from backyard bargins to highway robbery for what was once unwanted parts. I agree capitalism supply demand. But when ultra wealthy folks bought cars up to invest in and drove the prices on everything else upwards. It's the golden rule he with the gold rules. Like it or not it's what happened to muscle car markets.

Also, to be clear about “NOS”.....
NOS does not mean “mint”. most often times, far from it. Lots of old stock has dings dents scuffs, missing hardware, blemishes of all sorts, etc.....

It simply means that it’s unused old stock.

I can’t begin to tell you guys how much *** ache I’ve had over the misunderstanding of the term.

The water pump isn't really that bad of a price, trust me I have searched form those and as this one with that specific housing, the fully enclosed gun barrel turret type neck with the double reinforced bolts om the left and right side are hard to find anymore, plus this is Chrysler stamped and that's even more difficult to find. What concerns me is that its listed as a reman, not NOS.

At work we would have united way auctions for various items. Guess what happened all the desirable items were outbid on from the management people. Have football tickets with bid from 75 to 100 office guys come by see price and move bids up to 300 bucks. It was so rampant that they had to go to private auctions to balance it out. Now i know how the game works i was just stating the obvious. Maybe ruined was wrong word. But certainly price wise put it out of hands of the average mopar guys.
