I think I'm going to have to rebuild a **** ton of the rear portion of the trunk. Anyone know the thickness of the steel for the body panels and the rear portion of where the bumper attaches? 16 18 20?
 
I would say 20 for the stamped sections and body panels. 18 is pretty stiff stuff, maybe trunk floor and axle hump. 24 is pretty thin, I have used it for customizing some but it's thin stuff.
 
I have to rebuild the corners and the part where the bumper bolts through. I’m sure nobody sells that panel.

the corners would be 20ga and the rear facia would 18 or even 16ga. There are plates that bolt to the back and then to the bumper that the bolts pass through the frame too. 18 would work okay.
 
Right will do that. I’m going to see how much a metal brake is at harbor freight I don’t expect it to be top notch quality wise but it may do the smaller stuff easy.
 
I bought one of the 30" ones. Works okay but wont hold up to repeated use like for a shop.. I assumed that you would mic the metal you were working on.
 
Yes I have one.. I can check it. I was also looking at a bead roller. May have to do some of that too. Seems there is a ridge behind the bumper I would have to recreate.
 
Well more cutting today but also started to draw out what I need to make out of sheet metal. These will tie the rear panel to the trunk extension. Then I have to make some pieces around 20 inches long to fix what is rusted out one either side of the car. Just flip it for the passenger side. Easy enough But the piece you see with the rust hole to the right of my finger will be 20 inches long and tie back into good metal. Then there is the Bumper backer.. or stiffener.. That's pretty thick and not sure if I can make that center bulge other than that it doesn't look terribly difficult.

Nice work! That rolled hump is what keeps the bumper bracket from sliding off. I would carve out a trough in a block of hardwood the same size plus a little bit, and then hammer the metal down into it to make that hump. Use something rounded like another hardwood block to hammer on, that will keep from heating up the metal and stretching it to much by slamming it with steel. Clamp down all around the place where you will be hammering so it stays flat.
 
AMD sells every part you need for fixing that. Bumper plates, crossmember, those small extensions.

I wish they made these parts for 66-67 B-body. Which I believe the OP shows in his pictures.
You have to find good used or repair what you have.
 
AMD doesn’t sell much for the 66/67 not the parts I need. You would be surprised at how little they do offer for the 66/67
 
I wish you could link me to the bumper plates I can’t find them anywhere.
 
Try CARID they do have a lot of parts Year one also do have parts Have you tried them also.

Beautiful handiwork. Yes, 66/7 stuff is hard to come by. There is some, but not much. If you keep up with that type of fabrication, you will have all the inner structure wrapped up nicely. Then you just have to deal with the lower quality quarter patches available out there. They aren't the best, but they are better than nothing.
 
I found another company the pictures posted show a much better quarter skin. I have sent them a message about them We will see what they say. I may buy them and keep the C2C set as extra metal for other patches.
