First of two questions. Does anyone know what the blue piece pictured in trunk could possibly be for my car ? The guy that sold it to me had no clue either. My seats and interior are of the same exact material. If I remember correctly when I last looked at it, I think it had snap buttons around it’s exterior.
2nd question. When I give the car substantial throttle. The plastic arm rest surrounds rattle like crazy in the back seat. I realize they are screwed down and I could try tightening the screws a little. But, the rattle from those two pieces are so abundant I don’t think that’s going to work completely. Is there something else that I need to do or look for to create less rattle from those two pieces ? Maybe there’s suppose to be a rubber lining, grommets, etc behind those pieces that have dry roughted or missing ?

Blue piece in trunk is boot cover, goes over the top frame when it’s down.

For rattle, I use packing foam. Just take the part off, contact adhesive some foam to what is noisy (keep it out of sight) and put it back together. Have it all over in my trans am, never regretted it.

Yeah it’s the top boot. It should be attached to the channel above the rear seat. The snaps secure it when it covers the folded top.

Thank you and I’m sorry. But can someone post a pic of any boots installed. Im really not that stupid, lol ! But, my top has a apron that wraps around the seat and it matches the top. That’s why I’m confused.

That helps a lot thank you. I haven’t had time to mess around with it and couldn’t have imagined that little piece in my trunk would stretch out that much. Plus, my white top looks like it has an apron that covers the area you guys pointed out that the blue boot covers ? This is a pic the previous owner took.

The squeaking could be the convertible frame . Mine always squeaked maybe needs a little oil in the pivot points .

Thank you, Pete. I ll lube those up. Pretty sure it’s plastic arm rest surrounds mainly. Down where they tuck beside the seat there is a little movement. Perhaps down near the floor they’re missing a screw or two. When I tap on the top portions they resemble the vibration noise that is quite evident. I ll be able to narrow it down once I get time and an assistant. I think an exhaust pipe might be up against the fuel tank. Causing vibration up to the two plastic arm rest pieces.

Does anyone know how to remove bench portion of seat? I know on older cars you have to push with your knee and lift at same time. Are these seats the same ?

Looks like you have a white boot cover installed. If you are interested in selling the white one and using the blue one that matches your interior, I'd be interested in buying the white one if it's in good shape. I have a 70 Satellite convertible with white interior and a blue boot cover. I think the boot cover should match the interior. PM me if you have any interest in selling. here's what mine looks like.

Nice ride, Njrr. Unfortunately I want the white one too, lol ! Wish my car had white seats or at least white door panels. My interior has way too much blue. My plan is to address that a little in the future. But, I ll sell the blue one if anyone is interested.

Starting a conversation with you.

If NJRR doesn’t buy the blue boot, please put me next in line

Turns out it had a 10-12 inch rip, went in the trash. Sorry

Did you take out the plastic clips? Sometimes they break, good to have spares.

No, thank you for mentioning it. You’ve allowed me time to dig it out and I thank you.
