Anyone have a big block engine cradle that’s not in use and for sale???
POPS

What year car?

Engine cradles not year specific, just big or small block.I do not need the model with wheels, unless that’s what’s available.

My bad. I thought you were asking about a k frame

I have a 70 440 6pk skid plate k member I would sell.

Pops, if you're looking for a NICE one, check out RCR Metal Fabrication. I just worked one up and it's awesome compared to the usual Summit style cradles.

WOW!! That is a great looking cradle, just a little pricey for a single use to haul my motor to the dyno. But that one is the bomb.

I get small, heavy pallets and install buttressed uprights made from wood to contact the pan rail.

Sometimes you get lucky and the spacing of the pallet slats is perfect.

Then I buy an $8 harbor freight furniture dolly and rob the $20 worth of casters off of it.

That $8 HF dolly makes a great transmission dolly with zero mods for an auto and the addition of a small 1x2 for a manual.

I stole the buttressed upright idea from a thread on FxBO where a member built one from scratch. I just skipped most of the build by starting with an 18x24 inch (or there abouts) pallet

YY1, That is a great idea and most likely what I will do. Just thought I could push the easy button and some one close would have a extra not in use. Thanks POPS

That’s what i’m talking about!! Going to whip up a couple of them this week. POPS

Yep, that's the one.

Easy to spend as much as a metal one if you're not careful, though.

Any time I see discarded wood that's in decent shape, I pick it up. Makes LOTS of projects free except maybe fasteners.

Last month I scored 3 2x8x6' PT boards plus 4 2x8x3' (all cut from much longer boards) and a dozen 4x4x18"-2 ft PT.

I just can't let that kind of stuff get packed into the ground. That's $50 of wood.

I used the 4x4 chunks last week helping someone unload a car from their trailer.

Those x8's might work for a cradle project.
