My project 66

66/67 and 68-70 wheel houses are very different.

Maybe a 68-70 4 door (which is different than 2 door), but I wouldn't bet on it.....

Anyone know If I can use 68 to 70 outer wheel houses to repair my rusted ones?
I bought a shrinker stretcher and some 1 1/2" sheet metal angle for mine, I think I got it from T&P Tools. Came out ok, if you go that route don't buy the cheapest stretcher it will wear you out

Well today i got the remaining rusted metal out of the rear corner and was testing fitment of the trunk extensions from C2C.. My god the fitment is worse that the outside panel. The lower lip that fits the wheel well opening is way off just terrible.

It looks like I will be doing the same.... I guess I have to expect the worst and hope for the best.

I was reading that .022 or .025 wire is better for the panels being as they are 20 gauge I have a huge spool of .035 but blow through happens quite a bit. I do not have gas for my Lincoln 140 im sure that would help. I modified the trunk extensions because the curve coming off the wheel housing was way off. I will post pictures of the modified parts. Also they needed to be trimmed towards the back of the trunk.

In the mean time I have been putting the dash back together from my neighbors 71 Satellite. Here are those pictures.. every thing was missing.

Not much progress as of yet.. Its been raining and cold so I figured I will start collecting stuff for metal fab. I just bought a set of HF shrinker and stretcher. I need to get a bottle of shielding gas. And some smaller gauge wire. I now need to get some metal and start trying to fab the outer wheel houses. I have enough money to pick up my floor pan and the axle relocation kit. I guess I will patch the shackle mounts and relocate the shackles to the frame.

Well it was a nice day out today I decided to finish up taking out the rest of the trunk pan and valance that goes behind the bumper. It was rotted pretty bad. I had to fab up something. Its not exactly like OE but good enough for me. Its just mocked up for now until I get the floor pan. Dont mind the mess my side yard behind the fence has become the scrap pile.. Car included :)
