Under Hood Hardware question

After a long few years my 72 GTX is getting very close to being finished and I'm down to the last few components. In an attempt to get as close to original as my capabilities will allow I'm trying to use the correct hardware whenever possible. I'm ready to install the heater control valve (factory AC Car), AC components and the starter relay and I'n not use what bolt / screw to use. I installed new inner fenders which are dimpled for the fasteners but I'm not sure if they were held on with screws or with a bolt and nut.

Any insight will be much appreciated

If your looking for correct hardware and advise I would suggest you call Frank Badalson. A few items like V. Regulator, starter relay, and ballast resistor use Anchor Head bolts. Washer bottles in 72 use Phillip screws with captive washers. Heater control valve uses a very elusive bolt that has a "G" on the head usually.
If your old hardware wasn't bagged and tagged give Frank a call and he will help you out and also lighten your wallet a bit.

Thanks RJS, I have all the bolts from 2 cars so I'll look for the elusive G bolt. I'm assuming that it expects an elusive nut too. If all else fails I'll contact Frank

Is this a G or a 6?

To me that is a "6" and I have to say that I have never seen that bolt in use, but never say never. AMK Fasteners is the provider to almost all of the vendors who are selling the "correct" style hardware. Some of the fasteners have been discontinued and are no longer available, so depending on how correct your looking to go, you will be looking to find good used pieces. The AMK site will say for some known pieces the application.

CORRECTION: It's an "R" bolt not G:
Also the anchor head bolt is used for ignition box and I had to use them for my heater control valve since I have yet found there "R" bolts myself.
And no nuts all firewall bolts are self tapping
