Cool, where do they attach on the block? Was this tag used in 1970 as I could use one of those for my 440 Bird's engine.

passenger side above where the vin # is stamped, right by the frost plug.

this tag was from 1969-74

you need the number or the stamp?

I have a warranty 318 block in my 67 wagon.
I can get the number from it if that's what you need.

BTW, this tag is on the front of the block, below the head.

i need the number, i have the stamp

on big blocks, they go on the side. can you send me a picture of where yours is located ?

Sure.

May be a while, we've got a house painting project this weekend.

I'm curious if they might have had different numbers for different builds/years.
We know compression ratios, pistons, heads, etc changed over the years.
That begs the question- does a 67 built warranty block have a different reference number than a 1972 or 73, even for the same displacement engine.

Interesting.

There was a discussion a few months/years ago about this and at that time no one had any reference to what those numbers actually mean as far as the specifications of the build, where they might differ from the engine originally installed.

Found my pics. Looks like it was behind the fuel pump, under the pass side head.

Again, this is on a 1967 Belvedere II wagon which is otherwise unmolested and wearing most of it's original paint.
