Getting to the point in my project to buy my front suspension. My question is any run the QA1 setup? Do you use the factory steering knuckle? Also interested in the the RMS and gerst kit. Just looking for the best all round kit for the money this car will be a weekend driver.

I am in the process of building my car.. I went with the QA-1 subframe and love it except... I run the Milodon Road Race Oil Pan with external pickup for my 540 and the pan comes too close to the engine mount towers and the hose from the pan to pump has to be modified.. Milodon has since changed the hose and pump pick-up..

Awesome news! Have you heard if anyone is running the factory spindles or any aftermarket ones? I am basically working with a bare body

I am running the QA-1 lower arms, stock spindles (Well stock re-pops from a disk brake conversion) and Hotchkis uppers.. The QA-1 accepts all stock parts.

Here you go.

Car looks good I’m almost done with metal work. Motor is done.

No metal work, just want vroom-vroom noises for now!

I am also leaning toward the whole QA-1 stuff. Anything and everything else takes the pricetag into the $4,500-$5,500 stratosphere...and a triangulated RMS StreetLynx or GERST rear suspension is a DEFINITE item on "the list".
My main goals are more adjustability and a better overall driving experience.
Also if the setup is more conducive to tweaking for weight transfer at the drag strip, that is a plus.
@Budnicks we've probably talked about this, what is your perspective?

The QA1 stuff is far more affordable
than some of the other $3500-$5000 options available

depends on what you get from QA1
about appr. $1800 - about $2200
that's far less than many of the others

(the QA1's are based on the old Capps Automotive style/designs)

(Most of the ones I've used, I still use the Torsion bars
& OE style engine mounts, with Moroso solid mts
& with OE style rear steer where it goes under the pan
I wasn't trying to reinvent the wheel, used what works
)

The K-member is strong & lighter
than the OE stamped steel units
better header fits more choices of oil pans
depends on whether you have the org. style steering box mounts
with rear-steer or not
(OE style steering goes under the oil-pan/lower ball joints are to the rear of the spindles/axle line)
front steer is a completely different animal
(steering & lower ball-joints are ahead of the spindles/axle line, different steering box needed etc.)
more $$$ initially too
you can get them with the OE placement of engine mounts too
or for use with elephant ears no OE style mt's (Mid plate too IIRC)

But it's a wide open area under the engine on both

it depends on what parts you chose
will depend on how much adjustable

the LCA's are compact & light
some have provisions for the sway bars to
(like the photo below)
you have to order then that way
or you need to adapt them otherwise

QA1 UCA's are OK too, strong & light
some are adj. some aren't depends on what you order

QA1 Dynamic adj. alum Strut rods

SPC dbl adj. UCA's with the poly bushing are great
have a little more caster built into them
you can adjust them on the car too

QA1 k-member
QA1 Mopar B-E body K-member 52315.jpg

QA1 LCA's with tab for sway bars
QA1 Mopar B-E Body lower control arms 52308 $449.95.jpg

QA1 Dynamic adj alum strut rods
QA1 Mopar Dynamic Adj. Strut Bars 62-72 B, E Body $219.95.jpg

QA1 UCA's no adj. poly bushed
QA1 Mopar upper-control arms 52305 $349.95.jpg

QA1 UCA's (formerly Capps Automotive/design) adj. poly bushed
QA1 Mopar {Capps Automotive} Mopar B-body Adjustable Capps-QA1 Upper Control Arms.jpg

SPC UCA's dbl adj. on car
with more caster angle built into the ball joints location
MRE SPC Fully adjustable Upper Control arms $240 each.jpg

I hope some of that helps
