Just thinking on your “plan after MCACN” comment ! Lol

Throughout this build I have met many wonderful people. It never ceases to amaze me as to how many good people are still out there. A week ago a member reached out to me out of the blue and sent me a wonderful PM. Pictured below is the gift he so graciously sent me at no cost for the help I provided him through this build. I am rarely a receiver but more of a giver. I was truly shocked and amazed.

So to @moparsaver Thank you, Thank you my good friend....They have a great home and one will be at MCACN.......

My pleasure Justin.

I'm so old, I can't even remember the color of the oe oil filter; feeling sad right now. Sometimes tho, memories just pop in my head; sometimes they're wrong tho!

Well look above...my gosh did you not look at the picture? Thats what an OE assembly line filter in 69 looked like....Hence "looked" these are not NOS........I have yet to find an NOS one and the folks that have them are not letting anything loose...

There are not many people that remember the original filter 40-50 plus years ago....No one gave a SH## back then.....PN's, survivors and accurate research proved what's correct....Again, we cannot go off of memories.

The Gold version I posted early in this thread was actually a extremely rare Mopar OTC Hemi race filter.....It broke my heart when I destroyed it to put the correct green filter on it....but now I have two spares....

Roll call to all the members whom are interested in getting together at MCACN.....

The show is Nov 17th and 18th.....Me and Mario are trying to get a tally of whom is able to meet.....

Drop a line here and I will include you in a private thread in which we will relay the specifics.

It is rare that we are able to get together outside of the forum and this would be a great opportunity to hang out and enjoy some good eats....

Justin

Best of luck to you Justin. This thread is EPIC and truly an inspiration to amateur and professional builders alike. You Father is smiling down on you from Heaven. You did him proud my friend.
Will you ever drive the car?

I am honored to be able to facilitate the activities in my Sweet Home...Chicago. Thank you Justin!

Let's get the roll call and some ideas to meet up. Time is short. We gots to get going...

Thank you for those wonderful comments....Truly appreciate that my friend!

Recently, I have had a few people ask me about the judging.....Eluding to how many points will you get.....At this point it doesn't even matter to me....No amount of points will be fulfilling than presenting my Dad's car to the public. It is the least I could do for a man that did everything and bent over backwards to get me where I am at today. The car was built based on LOVE and not based on points.....

He was perfect and his car had to be as well.......

I am glad that my information is proving to be helpful. To any and all whom come here.....I wish I could provide more.....

Now to your last question....hmmmm.....I drove it twice so far..the video earlier in this thread and from the hauler to the garage in Ohio...lol...Nuts is it not? The X will leave from the show in Chicago and head to the Gilmore Museum the day after the show. It will be there for at least a year.....I have another show in mind and in all reality it is basically confirmed......So if the museum decide not to keep it longer it will be back on it's way to Ohio.....

The Jeff Oldbee is going to get of his AZZ and come down to Columbus and a burnout will happen......If he gets scared a burnout will still happen...lol

Short answer, Yes....

On a side note here are two things my Pops would criticize about the X....
1. The car is done too nice
2. The factory exhaust sucks....put some headers and mufflers on it...

Thanks for the reply Justin. I can't wait to see the pictures after the unveiling. I just wish that I could be there to see it in person. I haul up to Michigan quite often, so I might be able to see it at The Gilmore.

I don't remember any green ones, but it was the '60s and 70s also! :fool:

You were too busy smoking something green:D

Most people won't because no one paid attention to the factory line filters.......No one forgets the later red white and blue Mopar ones.....The green is a crappy looking filter to be honest....That filter has been proven to be correct for pre 70 and the texture varied on years....It has been heavily documented and proven from survivors etc.....

Yep, remember the red, white and blue. I'm thinking the dealerships removed them on the new vehicle's first oil change, still being under warranty and promotional sales, ect. that would have brought them back in the beginning.

I was mostly in the small time garages. 1974 I was at a Lincoln Mercury dealership. 1978-1980 I was working for a Dodge dealership.

Good luck on the show! Looking foward to the updates

Thanks KK.....

Sure the dealers did....same as the owners that changed their own oil....at that time no one considered what to keep 40 plus years later.....
