My new 69 Roadrunner coupe project has a body color painted post between the front door glass and the rear pop out window. Should that be chrome in the center? Mine doesn't appear to ever had a chrome pc. there and just wondered if both ways were possible in 69.

Gee, don't remember '69's like that. That was the inexpensive '68 style. I like that look. Could be rare.

The RM21 cars started with very few options with the goal of keeping the cost down. The A87 package would have upgraded you to the post cover trim among other items. Your interior code will tell the story. If it is an M2?, the post will be painted. Any other interior code will have the post cover trim.

Would you mind posting a picture of your tag for us number junkies?

Hope this helps.

Thanks. Tag is posted over on member projects. Code is M2B so that clears that up. Don't know that I've ever seen a painted one is the reason I asked. This car still has about 60% of it's original paint and you can tell these posts still wear that.

My '69 is body color. The inside is painted the interior color - in this case black. Likewise all the trim inside is black as well as the front arm rest bases

My 69 Roadrunner insides are B7 dark blue. All as yours are in black. Not much chrome going on in there. Bare bones.

My RM21 68 has the covers, part of the decor option. Has the trunk finish panel, fender turn signals and some other nic-nacs. I think less is more for these cars.

Low option '68 Runner $1995. Damn. If I recall correctly the typical '69 RR was about $2350 - 2450.

I have my window sticker. RM21 with no options called out is $2945.
A31 Hipo axle package $102.95
R11 AM Radio $61.55
W11 Deluxe wheel covers $21.30
Destination charge $40.00

Total $3170

My 69 coupe is low line trim. No chrome on post, black armrest bezels, black door lock buttons, no back armrests, herringbone door panels, black trim above door panels and round horn button with no cartoon character.

Back in H.S. my buddy had a El-strippo 68 Hemi R/R, heater and an AM was about it. One Fast Taxi Cab.

Well my memory may not that good. That seems really high, what did it sell for? I was in Denver in June 1968, the dealer down the street was selling '68 Runners for $1995. In 1969 the dealers wanted a little more. My guess is the dealer did not get $3170.

$3170 was what the car actually sold for. $2495 was the starting price before the 3 options were added. You sure that wasn't a bare bones Belvedere? $2495 was the starting Roadrunner price that had more standard go goodies than a Belvedere.

Here's the original window sticker to my 69 Roadrunner. I'm lucky that I have the original window stickers to all my cars listed in my signature and non of them, starting out in standard trim, were close to that cheap. Even my 69 Formula S.

I sure don't doubt the sticker prices, but pretty sure that was not a selling price. You very lucky to have each of those cars.
