I have this orphan strut from an 8 3/4 with 10 inch drum brakes.
This strut is flat and can be used for either side!
The price is $5.00 plus shipping.

The only theory I have is that the strut with the bent angle portion would be for a narrow 10 x 2" wide drum?
This would leave less room between the backing plate and drum. The one I have might be for a 10 x 2 1/2" wide drum?
 
My brakes are 1 3/4” , guess it won’t work then!
