the wiper arms an my Dodge have a dimpled piece that secures the blade to the arm. I cannot get that end piece that is dimpled off the arm, to replace the entire wiper assembly. the new blades have the adapter that clips to the arm .any idea's other than breaking the windshield giving up and just wearing goggles??

There should be a thin flat spring clip that has to be released. Without pictures it hard to tell exactly which style you're working with. There's hundreds. Some have an obvious push button. Some have the small clip underneath that might require a pocket screwdriver to slip in between to release the clip from the pin that's on the arm.

If it’s what I’m thinking, slightly tilt upward away from dimple and should pull off(may need a little persuasion.)

Wrong these are ONE piece wiper arms. Only the actual wiper blades are replaceable. It is not an arm with a replaceable wiper blade assembly. It's why I was so happy to find a beautiful Nos pair for my 64 Dodge over the summer...

You're right, just replace the refill. The "blade frame or holder" is removable from the arm if replacing that.

No the "blade frame" is peened onto the arm, that dimple locks it on. Sure you can drill that out and replace the ends but it's not how they were designed...

Wasn't aware of that. So that's the OPs problem. Replace the refill !

thanks, I've seen all kinds over the years- this one has a small hole in the arm and a dimple on the wiper pivot that snaps into the arm,it is stainless steel (I think) and I've not been able to pry it off- yet. I beveled a small screw drive to get under it, but no luck removing it.I'll keep after it,I just didn't want to ruin the original wiper.best case is to find just the Anco insert that slides in and not remove the other part at all.
thanks for the help.

I agree a wiper refill is the answer BUT the Amco replacement new style, showed their clip would work with the arm with the dimple end .SO I got them off- ruined them in the process, installed the "guaranteed to fit" replacements? the stock arm has a hole- the factory piece is dimpled to lock in, the replacement that is supposed to work, also has a hole? so now there is no way to keep the blade attached to the arm without further modification. small screw to hold in place? I hate that it went this way, I'll keep the originals and when I find the real replacement blades I'll attach these back to the arm, come hell or high water. I swear I'll get it right. thanks for the insight.
