ok guys I have searched but haven't found anything helping me. 68 Super Bee, rebuilt hinges with larger pins, aligned the doors, open and close beautiful. Put on new (Metro Soft) door weatherstripping and the bottom corner sticks out, everything else still looks perfect. Put on the new roof rail stripping and it sticks out even further! What am I missing? I don't think it's on the hinge side because the rocker up front and fender are perfect as is the top of the door. I've played with the stricker but it moves the top in and out but the bottom never budges. This is on both sides btw. I can remove the stripping and it goes back to perfect.

Kind of looks like my Charger.. those new shells or skins ? or all original doors?

finding original weather stripping will solve it for you the easy way.
the repo stuff for the doors isn't that good, its too stiff.
that is what you need.
throw that repo stuff in the garbage.

I have hogged holes out, added shims on the hinges and even jacked up on the door
to make it fit properly.
door alignment is a matter of compromise on these cars.
I have walked Carlisle looking at door gaps on survivors
and restored cars (yeah,I'm that guy)
and they can be all over the place..

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, and I'm that guy to haha. The roof rail stripping is the main culprit. I know gaps are expected somewhat.my original was in good shape to but I threw it out all the name of "restoring to like new". I just spent so much time getting my panels lined up and slick that it's a punch in the gut haha

My very original '66 Coronet 2dr ht had doors that closed *perfectly* before I replaced the weatherstripping. After that I had to slam them for about 2 years. Now in year 3 or 4 and they are getting better. I refused to adjust the door until the weatherstripping relaxed lol. Irritating to say the least!

Warm up the weather stripping with a hair dryer and try closing again. The foam may just need to compress some to match the old stripping.

It's getting a little better the more I fool with it. You rebuilt my hinges last year and they're awesome. I've got my passenger side dang near perfect. The driver could go in another 1/8" maybe if that much. So I'm hoping overtime they'll compress and be good. Thank you guys for your comments, Mopar or no car!

:thankyou: for your business and just give the weather stripping a little time.
Just keep the doors closed.
