I am looking for a new set of USA made 10.5 inch rear drums for my 73 Charger. Store parts are China,

I don't think there are enough steel producing facilities left in the U.S.A. to replicate the original pieces we need for our hobby/passions. GOD Forbid we ever get into a ground based major war, as we could not produce the armorment needed to carry it to victory...

I think the originals were made in Canada.

Didn't our President save the steel industry? I keep seeing all this stuff about steel plants & tariffs on the news.

And as far as I know, all brake drums/rotors are made in China except a few which are made in Mexico

Hard to save something that was dead years before Our President even entered the Game. Thank the previous Administrations for the "cash for clunkers", and shipping all that steel to Asia...

Trump is trying his hardest to bring steel jobs back to the US with the tariffs on China. It won't be instant and will take some time.

I ordered a set of drums from Rock Auto, same part number, one was USA one was China, so there some decent stocked drums but it is a crap shoot. May try NAPA

At least one steel plant has been reopened, but after decades of industry destruction, industry reintroduction is not going to happen overnight...

Last set I bought was from NAPA,$17.00 each made in China, opened box took one look and returned them, total junk. The store manager told me he could get better ones for $28.00 each, came two days later, opened and they were O.E.M. Bendix in NAPA boxes.

I have the ones on my 8 3/4 I won't be needing anymore! I can check into there condition and if there USA stuff or not car was restored in the 80's so I'd assume they aren't org but probably decent quality . Car hasn't been driven sinss resto it was parked and forgotten (owner passed)

ok thanks, I will try those places, thanks anyway on the used,I will try to find some new ones

Don't know were these drums are manufactured.

I tried calling, wanted me to leave a message.

I was just going to suggest them. I purchased the "brakes in a box" from them for my Newport, and I asked where they were made...he said Canada!!! Bought em on the spot.

IIRC it's a two-man operation, so they may be a bit slow to get back to ya.

I'm hoping they would reply with Canada on their drums. Imo the Canadian made drums were better than the USA back in the day. Canada has some quality castings in other products also. Even their steel products had better tolerances.

Got my parts from my local NAPA store and ALL parts boxes "says" made in USA is all I know

How do you like the brakes, was considering them as well

So far, so good. Only downside is you need to bed the shoes for the first 200 miles. Other than that, they stop on a dime and make change. Pretty good for 4-wheel power drums in a 2 ton boat.
