Has anyone run this carb or other Quick Fuel double pumpers with the annular boosters on a big block? I'm considering this carb for a street-strip 383, 727, 3.73 set up. I've read great reviews on these carbs and the advantages of the annular boosters instead of the down leg boosters.

Yes. I like it. I did need to tinker a little with the jets and air bleeds. I found the transition from cruise to full throttle air fuel was a lot nicer than with the normal booster. Now that was doing something you don't typically do, cruising at 2500 or 2000 rpm and flooring it. I also found the wide open throttle did a little of what was described in my readings. I don't remember exactly what it was (I think going lean) but I was able to get a flat Air Fuel by working with the jets and air bleeds. The carburetors are nice and adjustable. The other QF and similar ones can also be quite nice, and cheaper. Mine is not a 383. For a 383 I would probably run a smaller carburetor if I ran regular boosters, but the 750 with annular might be very nice on it. But might also be more expensive.

Yes, we made 750hp@7100RPM on a 511" low deck with a 1050, 4150 style Quickfuel 1050-AN (annular boosters).

I read probably 35 reviews on this carb and every review I saw the new owner was able to eliminate their low end or mid range hesitation they experienced with their other carbs (mostly Holley carbs). With most it took a lot of fine tuning, most saw good increases in dyno numbers also. Makes me think it's worth the price.

I have a bd-680-vs for sale for $300 if interested. I went efi.

Like mine too. They're basically a Holley, now sold by them. Guess a couple of Holley engineers went off on their own, making Quick Fuel. Then they sold the company back to Holley and retired.

My engine made 600/610

I built a 1050/4150 AN carb. One of my favorites. Makes great power and could easily be daily driven.
