At ur age, are you really looking for 8secs?LOL, go for it Mike! I’m sure there’ll be a post from Doug, if not others, coming soon!

Wow I'm shocked. Wish I had the bank for it. Good luck it will sell fast.

When I say 8 Second Dart, I mean 8.60 for our B/GAS class here in California...I may be 76 but you don't have to be "strong" to handle a drag car, you just have to know what you are doing....and that comes from experience.
I got plenty of "experience" piloting my hi 9 second, 145mph 1965 Altered Wheel Base Nitro Burning Funny Car back in 1966-1969. That, my friends, was a handful...LOL

hey mike , good luck with the sale,,heres a tip,,i have sold 5 cars on ebay now,,last 1 was a 71 barracuda for 45000.00,,for cars they have a set price for them,,no 10%.. it was straight 125.00...but your advertised base is much greater """if it doesn't sell here""",,i would call them..(thats what i did) to verify they have not changed too much from the 125.00...and to list it correctly,,,yeah you get some @$$ holes but common sense will guide u..cash or wire transfer only..the guy who bought my 71 insisted on cash so i sat in the bank while they handed him the money and he gave it to me before we left the bank....wire transfers take a day or 2 so car does not leave until money is verified in bank...FYI.thats what i would do..

I'll be sad to see you get rid of the Coronet.

Would it be cheaper to build a bigger motor?

I think 572 Aluminum Block Hemi would get you where you need to go in the 9's... probably not into the 8.60s though.

Yes, that would make my Coronet go faster....but....that motor would cost at least 25,000 PLUS then I would have to go with a fully narrowed rear end for really big tires, big wheels, coil overs, ladder bars or 4 link and that would cost another 5000 dollars....doesn't make sense. thanks for the thoughts.

Regardless of body style it needs to be light. Even at 2500 (w/driver) you're going to need 800hp.

That is an awesome build from lxmodguy. I so wanted to buy it but wasn't in the right place when he first listed it and by the time i got in the right place to buy it i think he did some work to it and the price went up. And now I'm trying to finish my place up north before i add any more projects.... oh well, maybe someday I'll build a cool car like that! Good luck with your sale and new build, I'll be waiting for the build threads to start

I think you should go back to AWB!

Good luck with your sale, very nice car for sure!

And thanks for starting this thread so we can comment.

I hope my balls are at least half the size of yours when I’m 76. I give you much credit bro

Guess that pink slip race is off.. OH well, Good luck with your sale Mike.

Sorry to see you’re parting ways with the Coronet Mike, but again inspired by your continual desire to innovate and passion for the sport!
This time of year I always think of selling my Satellite, as I’d love to have a 63 Dodge racecar someday. This year the wife wants new flooring and furniture, so..... Happy Wife, Happy life. But someday I’ll have my 63 Dodge!
