R/T question ????

I see it was touched on but I'll elaborate-

As a general rule, the Super Bee trim and interior level was the same as the Coronet 440, and the R/T trim was the same as the Coronet 500. The 440 has a lower body molding and lettering that the Bee does not have, though. Same goes for a thicker molding on the 500 that the R/T does not have.

I do see a LOT more Bees with bucket seats, however than 440 models (almost none).
It is more common to see an R/T or 500 model with a bench, esp a convertible.

IIRC Bees and R/T's got sway bars where 400 and 500 (?) did not.

With Coronet cars, particularly 1969. What parts made a Coronet a genuine R/T car ? Besides the badges and identification on the fender. Did the R/T always have a bigger motor than a 318/ bucket seats/ etc ?

As mentioned the R/T came standard with the 440 engine with 426 Hemi as an option. The were a higher trim level vehicle also like the Coronet 500, but the largest engine in the 500 model was the 383. The 500 and R/T have the same tail lights, but the 500 has a flat hood and the standard R/T hood was the bulge hood with the option of the N96 Fresh air (Dual scoop hood). The badges of course were different, but also the side trim. The R/T has the long stainless rocker cover. I'm not sure if wheel opening molding trim were standard or optional? The side scoops were an option, not standard.
The R/T got HD suspension (I think 0.96" T-Bars and front sway bar) and brakes (11" drum) standard, and disc brakes were optional, as was power brakes optional.
I think R/T may have gotten the HD cooling 26" radiator as standard too?
I think the '69 R/T cars came with the torque boxes on the chassis too, but I'd have to double check my Hardtop 8-3/4" rear car. Dana 60, and 4-speed were options as were the selection of gear ratios.
The R/T could have the standard dash layout with 150 MPH speedometer, or the optional Rally dash. The standard dash had the woodgrain finish with the R/T on the woodgrain over the glove box. The Rally dash had the black finish in '69, and I think went to wood grain in '70?
Not sure if bucket seats and center console were standard or optional.

Ah, I see.
First off, I'd strongly urge you not to plaster R/T badges all over the car. The whole "clone" thing has been done to death and it's not fooling anyone anymore anyways.
Not a darn thing wrong with having a Coronet 500 convertible! They're rare as heck in their own right and very desirable.
Ok, on to the questions:
1. Again, I strongly urge you to do your own homework on this and a Google search is your best bet.
There is literally a bazillion sources of information out there on what the differences were in R/T's and other models.
Factory literature (sales brochures, for example). Websites like allpar.com. Documentation is out there free of charge for the looking!
2. All Mopars of the era (not just '69 models) had torsion bar suspension, going back to the 50's.
A more specific question would have been "does a 318 car have different torsion bars than a 440 car?"
The answer is "yes". Torsion bars are the front springs for a Mopar, so as you'd imagine, heavier springs are needed for a big block than for
a small block.
3. As far as "high end trim" goes, your 500 was pretty much top of the line for trim and on a par with the R/T's, which were based on similar trim lines.
There are some differences in trim, but not many.
4. The standard engine in a '69 Coronet R/T was the 440 Magnum; the only optional engine was the 426 Hemi.
Yes, suspensions and brakes were all heavier duty on the R/T.

You're going to wear yourself out asking bazillions of questions here.
Do your homework. Research online as much as you can utilizing searches.
Understand that your car is desirable as it was built and will be less desirable as a clone.
Above all, have fun with it!

I didn’t clone the car. Previous owner did and I’m not peeling the badges off new paint. I know it doesn’t fool anyone. But, I like it how it is. No sarcasm, just honesty.

Hard to remember, but I bought a new one in 1969. Was A 440/4SPEED , 150mph speedo. , 354/dana 60. Bucket seat/console, w/ wood grain. Was extremely fast hi way car, dragracing, not so much. Had the 150 speedo. buried it out on I 40 west of OKC after a tune up.

I bet, back then. You didn’t think these cars would turn into what they are now, lol !

Bench sear n/a in R/T. Was available in the 500.

Again, the library at HH shows the differences and options by model. Spending some time there will clarify a lot of things.

As the automatic with 3.23 gears was the standard set up, so was the 22” 053 radiator.
The 26” Radiator came with axle package, a/c and towing package.

Buckets were standard and only seating in the R/T. Console was optional.

Well it sounds like a couple you guys don't like clone

cars but here's a picture of my clone car doing what it does best beating up on other cars

If it’s your car and you like it cloned. You’re the guy it needs to appeal to, no one else. It’s one thing to clone a car and try to sell it off as something else. I don’t care about matching numbers or a build sheet either. These cars are all exactly the damn same. That’s why a simple badge can pass these cars off as anything else. It’s one thing to be looking to buy. But, if it’s your car. Do as you please. I never cared a day in my life what other people think. A car isn’t going to change that, today. When you own one of these beauties. People like to pick on a car, just to make you feel like you have something less than what you have. We know what people seldom are, lol !

here is the car with no nitrous my first weekend out street racing in it and it's got a 18/34 rear tire on it with a 513 gear the car went okay but it does way better now

I wouldn’t have the nuts to race one of these cars today. You know each one of those front fenders are worth close to a grand a piece and very hard to find, lol !
