Race slicks question

Im looking at a pair of Mickey Thompson drag slicks a guy is selling. He says they only have 3 passes on them. He says they are tubeless & that’s how he ran them with no problems. However the MT’s on Summit Racing in this size all say tubes required. He sent me this pic of the side wall. Is there any way to tell.
 
Hmmm..... are they drag radials instead of slicks by any chance?
 
from what I understand tubes allow you to run a much lower pressure safer, example my friend runs 8 psi "with tubes" with out tubes the tire could possibly dismount the wheel.
 
I've run M/T's both ways. If you go tubeless, you need to apply liquid dish soap to the inside of the sidewalls. The soap will seep through the porous sidewalls sealing them against air loss. even w/o tubes once they're mounted they will not come off the rim at low pressure. With tubes and any power the tires may need to be screwed or glued to the rim to keep the tires from slipping on the rim. Do not screw radials, glue only. The tires shown are radial. With a lot of power I've found tubes to help with consistency. Why would you want a 14x32 for your build? They are huge.

That’s what’s on it now. So I’m going to go back with the same size.
 
That R in the size denotes a radial. Not sure if that makes a difference in whether they need tubes or not
 
Are you absolutely positive?? Those shoulders look like a radial to me; and MT DOES make a radial construction slick in that size. Bias slicks typically have a sharp cornered shoulder, and when not mounted, the sidewalls would be loosely flexible to the touch.

when he ask if they where radials or slicks I thought he was referring to street slicks or ET street type Tire. Yes these are a radial slick as mentioned the R denotes that.

Pretty cool, in a "beater sleeper" kinda way. I imagine it as a great running, but not so pretty looking money maker, with some traction tricks added that let you take other people's money :D
 
Be careful with radials that size, some SuperStock cars had problems with 14x32 radials wobble on big end.
 
Tube use is your choice. Far as I know bias or radial makes no difference. I tried tubeless on my bias Phoenix several years ago. No problems at all. 11.5 28.5 I followed advice from fellow site member & used spray adhesive inside the tire before mounting. Hold air fine.
 
My first question would be....how old are they?
