I need a seal for the speedometer pinion. I bought one on but it turned out to be wrong. its about an 1/8" too large in diameter, I have my old one which is damaged to compare it too, but also it just doesn't fit. I know someone must have been down this road... thanks in advance.

Here's a pic, I'm pointing to the correct one that I need. Next to it on the right is the one from ebay which is too big. I bought it in a kit with a red o ring and metal clip. I guess its only for 1966 and later 727 trans

Usually, when I get a seal kit for rebuilding 62-65 727s a package is included with the specific gaskets and seals needed. Try a rebuild shop (old established). I may have one or more in stock but shipping will cost far more than the seal.

I believe I have some. I'll look this morning.

Id call A&A, Cope or Coan and ask. Im pretty sure those are in the kits for 62-65, so maybe they have some loose?? I'll check here in a bit and see what I have... HTH, Lefty71

Went thru this last summer, went to a trans shop & guy pulled the seal out of an opened GM kit. Mine was ‘68, he said a lot of seals interchange. Gave it to me for free!

What is the OD & ID of the seal you need?
on the damaged original seal the OD is 7/16" and the ID is just a hair under 1/4" - that's what I need

the one I bought is 1/2" OD, and even though that is close, it wont fit into the hole without folding up on itself

I believe this is it. New style on the right. PM me your address and I'll send it to you.

I sell a push button torqueflight o-ring seal kit for $30. It includes the speedo gear inner seal and all the o-ring seals. This kit is nitrile rubber. Install a set and after 22K miles in my daily driver still not a drop of trans fluid on the outside of the case.
