Wiper Arm Removal Tool

IMG_0463.GIF

Pull wiper arm up to the tool and pull straight out.

Did you buy this tool? While my heater box is out I'm doing the pivot seal replacement. Orielly sells a similar tool for $9
Maybe I'll try it.

I bought one and they work great, but as stated they can get away from you so keep a good grip and expect it.

Heater Box out?

You didn't say but add the grease fittings and have them point the right direction to get to them later.

I got mine from the same company that I got my heater box rebuild kit from. The directions tell you where to put the fittings but don't show you where to "clock" it, I wish I had made a mark on the bottom before I removed them from the car. When I did mine I didn't consider having to do it the future. After you drill there will be shavings inside. I think I may have used carb cleaner spray to clear the metal and old lube out. As soon as you do that it really loosens up. A very good upgrade.

Am I the only one that used a flat head screwdriver lol. I put a rag in between the screwdriver and pivot-arm and pryed up. Worked fine.

Put a piece of duct tape on it where it hits the housing on the shaft. Helps save the finish of the housing.

Your not alone, lol we have a screw driver with a 45 bend on the end just for older clip arms. I always waste a filler spreader , cut a U notch in it and slip it around the shaft to protect the paint.
