Replace old TKO 5 need advice

Going with the .64 5th vs .82 current. Car walks off 900 rpm so cruise ahould be lower rpm freeway. Capacity for Tremec is 2.7 quarts which had previously been a mystery. Recommended synthetic blend fluid, and first 500 break in oil.
That would be about ideal for an O.D. ratio for the freeway with 3:55s or similar. My 6th is .5 and it's just a fuzz to much, it's right around 1,700-1,800 rpm at 70 mph, I'd like to be closer to 2,000 rpm.

Dennis, you selling the old trans?

That surprises me that your existing transmission has such a meager overdrive 5th gear. I had a Gear Vendors with a .78 and thought that it should have been a better ratio.

Silver Sport due to arrive San Jose 11/28/2018. Enroute from Tennessee.

Just talked to Jeff at SST today. Ordered a new m/c for the Dart.

Here is what SST sent me:

SST all the way.. I talked to both as well and SST seemed to have their **** together better..

She fought me, but it's in.

Nice install. Clean. The early Keisler TKO that I have now has leaked like a sieve from day one. Been in for about 15 years, 70k. Throws nicely onto driveshaft for even distribution to entire undercarriage.
I got the proprietary Tremec Branded break in fluid and the next change. Synthetic blend per SST.

I have to call today to order my Driveshaft.. I will ask about the oil issue..

Derwud, did you convert from auto to a tko? Looks like you were able to do install on jacks also, was that the case?

WM, yes I converted to TKO from Auto.. I have done it in the hardest way possible on jackstands..

So I talked to Chris at Silver Sports.. He said to use the Snycromesh for break in and the Tremec oil or Syncromesh after break in.. Driveshaft should be showing up in 7-10 days.

I've heard mixed reviews on American powertrain? Also check with Summit, they carry a few vendors that offer the 5 speed packages. I'd definitely ask about the shift mods, surely someone offers that as an additional option?

I know you don't want to do more chopping or buy another bellhousing but having had a TKO600 then a T56 there's no comparison when it comes to shifting:p. Honestly though if you can get the shift issue resolved the TKO is perfect for these old cars.

My experience with American Powertrain was a complete disaster . . .

Will be happy to discuss with you . . .

Discuss it openly, we all would like to know.

No need, I remember it well which is why I threw out that subtle warning. I'd just like to think that they've realized the issue and dealt with it??? Not spending my money to find out though.
