Question regarding Offenhauser 360 dual quad for low deck

Will the small four barrel Holley carbs fit on the Offenhauser 360 dual quad manifold? The manifold is for the 361-400 low deck engine. I know they will bolt up but will the float bowls have clearance. Thanks.

Yes, they will fit but very tight. I would go with the 500 Carter carbs. More tuneable.
 
Yeah, I think you'd need the side-hung-float style Holley to fit.... OR maybe turn them sideways.
 
Here's a question for you that I've wondered myself. Would a factory "hemi" air cleaner fit on that intake (say with Carter/Edelbrock carbs)? I had a factory cast-iron 2x4 setup that I never really got to use & always wondered. It would be SUPER cool if it did.

The Factory cast iron has the carbs closer than the Offy. This is the factory cast iron on my BB. The factory oval air cleaners almost touch.

Cool...so do you know if either the factory 413 or the Offenhauser 2x4 intakes with carter carbs would line up with this air cleaner???

I have no idea. You would have to know the center to center measurement. If you were really gung ho on useing that particular air cleaner, a new base could be fabricated if the original doesn't work.

I used a Billit Specialties air cleaner that has an adjustable base.

I might add this tidbit... the factory raised block, cast iron manifold is 7" center to center. The 360* Offy for the raised block has a 8-3/4" center to center.

Also the secondary holes in the rb factory cast iron manifold have to be opened up to accept the Eldebrock carbs.

I found a reamer on fleabay the same size as the primarys and used an old carb base for a fixture.
