Anybody ever fix one of these?
 
Not me....geez, that sucks. That looks like a piece of spring steel wire. I think you have a reasonable chance of finding some appropriate steel, making a replacement part & fixing the jack. I think the hard part would be finding a diagram of how it all fits together. If you already know, then maybe pull the whole piece out to use as a template & make another one?
 
I have a jack from a C body that has that spring intact. Whether it's the same I don't know. It doesn't look like these things were made to be to be repaired. I don't want to keep a floor jack in the trunk because of the weight. I sure as hell ain't gonna pay $300.00 dollars for a replacement. It was a shot in the dark.
 
Thing is, it looks like you have to drill out or cut off the rivets to disassemble it, then figure out how to re-stake everything. I'm sure that a lot of people on here could do it, but it might be beyond my skill level. I'd rather rebuild a transmission than do this. Big project. I may tackle it.
